Congrats on both purchases.. If you're dealing with woods and any slopes I would recommend the R1 .. R4 are decent but not great for mud or snow IMO.. My sub compact 28hp CAT with R4 tires does ok, but not well with slippery slopes and or snow. The last thing you want is to get sideways or something on a slope in the woods.. But you also have to weigh your options on what you will be using the machine for the most..

i did, but recently sold it. Bought from a member friend here. The last couple years I only made it to the woods a half dozen times each year.. So I decided it wasnt worth holding onto... I like paying it forward so I sold it cheap to a friend who wanted to get into bowhunting. He made out well lol

If that field in your picture is going down hill the further down the field.. Id stay towards the top side of the hill/field. Also, I highly recommend getting there for a few morning scouting sits. Does Not have to be exactly there so you dont spook them. but a point where you can see and or hear them. That way you can try to pattern their movements. If you get their somewhat normal patterns down you can sit and be quiet with just a fews of tyelps or clucks. Or cut them off somewhere before or after this field .. Do you know if these birds get pressured by other hunters much?

I doubt you will have any problems with your optics now! Seen some great deals on those scopes. Very tempting. Ive always wanted to look through that scope and compare it to my Athlon Midas BTR 2.5-15x50.

Optics planet has Huntworth brand snow camp for 50$+ Im not a fan of that company for reasons ill keep to myself lol.. but i may grab the bibs for 48$ and the vest from midway.

Just checked it out.. I will definitely be getting snow camo for next year.. sure helps with them open field sits. Midway has a snow camo vest for 30$. Might just grab that for now.

Damn man, Sorry to hear all of this. I know how frustrating that can be, for the most part. I know when i shot and sighted in my wraith on my AR, from a bench with sandbags it shot great. I switched to the tripod and stretched it out almost max and then shot again.. very steady and at 75 yards i was 2in left and an 1.5in low.. made adjustments on my scope and off i went.. tested it again the following week and it was dead on still. I know a guy who has had horrible experience with the THOR therm and missed over a dozen dogs this year.. chip shots.. he blamed the scope coming off zero.. not sure what happened but he hasnt missed the last couple times hes gone out..
