I will have to look deeper into this, I only glanced quick and it seemed like they only listed the bigger areas. I drive by a few that i did not find on the map, Some spots that looked good, but boundaries would be nice to know as well. Thanks Bob.

Alot of the region around the FLX have some open areas, But the further south you go.. It is mostly all timber. Which I dont mind Daylight hunts in the Timber... Can make for fun up close action

I agree, I live within a few minutes of 20k+ state land acres, around Allegheny, Steuben and Livingston counties that are not easily accessible once snow falls. But the ones easily i would try, though id imagine many others try there spots too, since many others are much harder to get to during winter. Im mainly looking at areas around Honeoye south through Springwater.. since these are on my daily commute to work

Maybe a 1/4.. and i imagine it changes everywhere.. I think they prey on more small game than anything in my area.. turkey, rabbit and other small critters.. The occasional run down or wounded deer.. I know a pack will take down a healthy deer, but i think they go through the pecking order first.. picking off the weak and moving up the ladder from there.. They are opportunists. Again each area is different on whats available for food sources.. I do know they are my new favorite critter lol next to deer and turks.. lol

from driving by several places it seems only lands that are posted (SDC)State land have access to hunting.. the rest don't even seem to be posted as government properties. I also wish maps from all over would be current with the times.. Some state lands are listed as personal properties still and vice versa... when clearly they are free to public use.. Guess it's just boots on the ground, and rubber to the road..

Damn man, Im Sorry for your issues man, ITs really sad to see this happen to guys, and im sure stupidly frustrating for you. A lot of guys having issues with ATN product, for years.. seems they'd fix this issues? Especially if a cheaper version like the Wraith seems to run flawless for most everyone. Got my anker power source hooked up on mine.. love it more now. -

Good Luck Mr. hoping to make a set or 2 myself.. Send pics! -
Ive called in a pack of 6 yotes about at once, 10 years ago, on one of my first sets ever. I believe it was January. And hunting early season yotes when they still may be with their mother ive called at a pack of 8 with lip squeaks while deer hunting opening day of bow season. Got 1.. Hunting with a just a cheap scoped rifle, ground snow and moonlight(if there was any) .. Most times, especially this time of year its a pair that come in or singles.. but not always.

I think youll be ok with pelt damage, just stay off the shoulder. Shoot them straight on and i am most certain youll have minimal pelt damage. Shoulder hits will split them lol. -

Hey All, So I'm looking for some public land to predator hunt on to give my spots that I have currently a cool down.. I am using the App Huntstand since my ONXmaps script ran out.. Is there a difference in terms of hunting access on these "public" properties..?? I see some labeled as "Non Governmental Organization(NGO) with different easements, & others labeled "State Department of Conversation(SDC)" which some state restricted access, and some that state open access.. Sorry if its a dumb question.. never used Public Lands before other than picnics and Sunday Drives and such.. Are Only State parks Accessible for hunting? (SDC) and (NGO properties) are off access? I will be checking out the DEC website later as well.. Im mainly looking at pieces between Steuben/Allegheny County North thru the Finger Lakes.. Thanks in advance

Glad that ole boy seems to be staying local to you! We spent 6hrs out there friday night, In some awesome setups. Had a pair answer back on our second set where we were the first set lol.. that's all we heard and seen all night besides dozens and dozens of whitetails .. very slow -
Prune the growth the grows up like mentioned, all dead and diseased branches, dont cut more than 1/3 of your living branches, but focus mainly on thinning the top half(more vertical branches) to allow a little more sunlight though to your lower better fruit bearing branches. I would wait until late winter when brutal temps are over.. keeps your trees healthier where your fresh saw cuts(wounds) would freeze and cause more damage possibly due to extreme low temps..

You two sir! Hope you the boy has fun, and maybe you gain new good grounds!

Nice rig sir! One of my 6.5cm is dialed in with these varmint express 95gr .. Shoots awesome. I actually killed my buck this year with them, since that was the only gun i had proof of being dialed in at the time. They destroyed everything inside his chest cavity, even sent shrapnel down the front leg beneath the hide, and up the neck as well.. I should have thrown it in the car today for the boy.. except i grabbed the 22.250

As mentioned above! For your shotgun I would mount a red light under your barrel, something you can throw on fast with no or minimal movement, once in range and send the pain. I will say however you plan to hunt (bipod/tripod) sightin the same way.. I sighted in off a bench .. shot yesterday to confirm zero for tonight's hunt.. and i was low and left 1.5" .. Would have made some horrible shooting out past 100 yards.. -
What do you do with your Yotes?
LET EM GROW replied to Five Seasons's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
I agree, but coyotes eat fruit, grain and nuts on a rare occasion as well.. Not arguing just claiming them to be in the same classification.. -
