Yes, I put in at the cornfield launch. It's a lot nicer and less busy than the Kiwanis launch. Plus I love that stretch of the river! Just remember to put a few dollars in the can to keep it open. Between 6 and 7 use the Spro Frog in the pads for some good LM action down there! Or drag a weightless black Senko across the top, rigged weedless of course. Best of luck to ya!

It's a BIG jump from a crossbow to a high powered rifle. IMO.

I respectfully disagree Bowguy. The range is the same as a modern compound. Sill shoots an arrow/bolt off a string and just has a different release mechanism, although my compound release has a trigger too. There are always things we don't like that others do in hunting. But if they are legal, does that make them wrong for everyone? Very simply put, if something is not for you, don't use it. Hunt how you want. And let others do the same.

Hey, at least you went out on the porch!

Sounds like a great day on the water! Even if fishing is slow. Any day on the water is a good one!

Most of the smallmouth including the biggest were caught on a quarter ounce white and chartreuse swim bait. In 8 to 12 feet of water, kinda close to shore. Most important was to cast to the shade of overhanging trees. Also bring along a quarter ounce white double willow blade spinnerbait and a craw imitation crankbait. Best of luck to ya! PM sent also.

Was getting pretty dry in these parts. Needed to wash the heavy pollen off everything. And the crop fields are getting some much needed moisture too. Good day for indoor projects!

Happy Birthday! May all the best come your way, on your special day!

I'm a boxing fan. Inside the ring he was arguably "The Greatest". Outside the ring, I did not agree with most of his views. I can respect someone professionaly and at the same time think less of them personally.

Nice haul! When is the fish fry?
-
I was targeting the smallmouth. No walleye today.

First solo trip on the river today. Between locks 9 and 10. One of my favorite stretches . Saw a mink up close but he scooted before I could get a pic. The launching and landing of the bassboat can be a pain by myself. But it went pretty good today. Oh yeah.....caught six smallmouth. The biggest about three and a half pounds.

Congratulations on your retirement! I'm gonna go eight more years and then get a part time job. Got to have a reason to get up in the morning. Besides, the Mrs. and I would drive each other nuts!

The old early 60's alien/UFO movies are so cheesy and fun to watch. Along with the Wolfman vs. Mummy type movies. And how about the first couple Godzilla's? As a young lad, I stopped swimming in the local lake, after watching Creature From The Black Lagoon!
