  1. Nice choice for the scope! Sure looks great sitting on top of beautiful muzzle loader. I'm sure you will not be disappointed with a Leupold. Now go have fun, sighting that baby in!
  2. +1 Well said. To each there own. Dead deer are dead deer.
  3. After the gun is sighted in off the lead sled. Of course, you then shoot off hand, with shooting stick, sitting, kneeling or any way you might shoot while hunting. But before any of that. I need to be sure that gun is spot on. moog said it best. I'm a hunter not a sniper.
  4. Hi, my name is grampy. I'm a girl scout cookie addict. I need help! Seems as if others need help too. Meeting at my place on Friday 7pm. Ice cold milk and cookies for display purposes on hand.
  5. We should be getting a supply of thin mints and somoa's this week. "For the grandsons". Can't come soon enough, I need a fix. My endocrinologist hates this time of year!
  6. Yup, some of us are REAL winners!
  7. Welcome! Nice to hear that you want to give hunting a go. Besides the actual hunting of game . There are so many other things associated with hunting that are very enjoyable too. The sights, smells and sounds of nature in the hunting woods. The enjoyment of becoming proficient with your weapon of choice, bow, shotgun, rifle or a combination of all of them! The satisfaction of procuring your own food. Learning and sharing hunting info. And so many other things that make hunting honorable and fun. Best of luck to you in all your future hunting adventures!
  8. Was using mine yesterday to sight in a couple older guns with new scopes. Absolutely great for shooting and sighting in. And I also use it to clean the gun when done shooting. As it holds it in place nicely. My opinion is that it's money well spent.
  9. Not a lot happened on last nights episode. I like the show, but it's getting a bit boring the last couple weeks.
  10. BAWANA59 is banned. I never saw that coming.
  11. Cool place. Been up there a couple times with my grandsons and niece. As my grandson was petting the deer, he says, "grampy, you need to come here to hunt"! He was about five then and I still smile when remembering how serious he was.
  12. Went over to the farm property. Sighted in a 10-22 and and older Savage 22 Hornet. Moved 3 deer stands. Tried calling for coyotes, got 0. But had a great day outdoors!
  13. Happy Birthday! Hope it was all good stuff!
  14. Way to go! Congrats on the calling and getting a real nice yote!
  15. I'll always stick up for myself and my family. And I still don't take a lot of chit. But at this stage of my life, I would hope my fighting days are gone. For sure my BEST fighting days are long gone.
  16. For $200, I think you got a great deal! Good find!
  17. Early spring!! Phil, the woodchuck said so.
  18. The Boonies is another good one. Just recently started watching it.
  19. If it were not for my family, who would or could not do it. I'd be living it now. There is no doubt in my mind I could do it, or would die trying. But the life I have now isn't so bad either.
  20. LOL......And I did laugh out loud too!
  21. It would be nice to hear the stories behind some of those trophy's. Or how to go about setting up a hunt in Africa. Relationships with guides and outfitters. Interesting things encountered along the way. Maybe a little background about the animals themselves. Some are very exotic looking! I see all the pictures. What's the stories behind them, Bwana. I do get that you have traveled far and wide and shot some amazing animals. That is cool! But just what is it you are trying to prove by bombing us with endless pictures ? I think I got it.
  22. Just wondering if you killed the elephant and cape buffalo?
  23. We got a round of thunder and lightning with strong winds and rain about 10:00 last night. Crazy weather for February but at least I'm not shoveling this morning!
  24. A gift is so much more special, when made by the givers own hand. Really nice work wooly! A lifetime keepsake.
