  1. Basically my back yard. It's nostalgic to hit the big woods!
  2. Have other DMP options to trade. Will make it good, for a 9S or 9T tag. Let me know via PM what you need! Thanks.
  3. I am looking for a 9T. I am a PA resident that lives on the border. Thanks!
  4. Not to mention they will go right back that night often times
  5. Was hunting in 9T tonight. Walking out, I came around a corner of thick stuff and there stood a good size bear feeding! It was a mere 25-35 yards away. It hadn't seen me. I watched it for about 1 minute to be sure it was alone. I pulled up for the shot, and as I was clicking the safety off I saw movement. Just then, a cub popped up out of a dip I didn't know was there! Had I not been patient, I surely would have made an error! Pretty lucky and glad I didn't shoot.
  6. Good job! Save the rack and compare it to bucks you kill in the next 10 years. Its fun to reminance and compare. I have bucks mounted that I wouldn't even shoot let alone mount now ha
  7. I often will out the radio on scan and just listen to the non sense in heavily hit areas. It can be really scary.
  8. Rem 7600 30-06 or Rem 788 .308
  9. Looks like a 16' ameristep to me. The fork part slides inside the other bar. The bar attatches to ladder about 6 feet from ground and fork goes to tree. Screw knob holds the 2 bars together
  10. I see deer often tines within 15 mins of climbing with a climbing stand.
  11. I've been seeing bucks cruising midday throughout my travels last week in that area. Saw 2 bucks sparring just north of sprauges on rt 305 the other day. About the coyote thing, is that just in the park or all of nys? In pa we have no closed season for em.
  12. Yeah I saw that stuff too. The no bear thing is kind of a deal breaker for me.
  13. Nice to see a local! I have considered hunting the park, but likely won't unless I get a 9s tag which is very unlikely. I'm just really looking forward to being allowed to hunt on Sundays! I work throughout Catt, Allegany, and Steuben counties a lot so know a couple spots nearby. Very familiar with Olean obviously.
  14. Hi everyone. I live in Bradford, Pa near the NY border. I have never hunted NY before, although the border is only about 10 mins from my house. A friend has invited me to hunt Catt county with him, near the Limestone area for deer. The price reduction for non resident licenses has inspired me enough to give it a try. I have read the regulations and most are similar to PA. I'm not too sure of the wmu borders yet, but I'll be somewhere around the border of 9s and 9t. If a better map exist of the wmu borders, I'd be very grateful for a link! I see I am too late for a DMP doe tag, but I also see they can be transferred in NY. If anyone wanted to trade bulk ammo or something related for a 9s or 9t I'd be interested, just pm me. I am a long time member on archery talk and huntingpa under the same screen name for any that know me. I look forward to the great opportunities NY has to offer. I also look forward to becoming a part of this forum and learning a new state. Thanks all!
