  1. Looks like you had a blast! Good fish!
  2. I just read your other post, some similarities there for sure. I shouldn't have read the QDMA link just before lunch...
  3. Bumping this to add; Pulled this same camera card and had 6 more sets of pics with this deer acting exactly the same way. On Saturday, I was switching spots and had to walk by that area. I look up the lane and there is this deer acting the same way. I kneeled down and watched her for ten minutes. Finally, I realized I was burning time, so having to pass that spot, I walked right toward her. Got within 50 yards, and she froze, stared me down, and then bolted. She acted normal enough at that point. Back in March, a doe ran into the front corner of my truck. It got knocked out, but got up in a few minutes and ambled off toward my field, the same general direction that I keep seeing the goofy acting deer. Coincidence or connected? If she was a trout, I'd say she had "whirling disease".
  4. Haven't heard a gobble. Had a hen hang out with the dekes for an hour. Raining again, but dry in the blind.
  5. Live from my dry desk at work; Good luck to you hardy souls that are out this morning. I'm planning on my first outing tomorrow morning, rain or shine. At least that's the plan. I'll get a final confirmation on when I see what it looks like at 4:30 tomorrow morning. Hopefully I won't wimp out. I've got a couple of dry blinds to sit in, but a long walk in the rain to get to them. In the meantime, I'll just live vicariously through you guys and gals this morning!
  6. Nice! You're on a roll Wooly! I haven't been out yet, but this weekend rain or shine. I'll settle for exactly 50% of your luck!
  7. Although I must've missed what you're going through today Grampy, I hope it goes well, and you heal quickly!
  8. I no longer smoke, but a few years back, had to put the cig down to kill my best bow buck. He was the third in a group of three that walked within 10 yards of my stand, They came from upwind thankfully.
  9. Good bird Wooly - way to get it done! Now go get his brother!
  10. I had a little garter snake poke his head under the blind one day while turkey hunting. I was a little embarrassed about my reaction - glad nobody saw it! My head was on a swivel at every little sound after that!
  11. Only a few miles from me. Might not be a popular thing to say, but I'm no fan of those rattlesnakes. We've come across two on our property over the years. Both uneventful encounters, but kind of unnerving.
  12. What app is that? I'm looking at the Storm app, and Thursday's low says 45 near Corning.
  13. They've just turned on in my area over the last few days. Went outside to get some work done Saturday morning without the bug spray. Big mistake! My arms and neck got chewed up in short order. Needless to say it didn't take long to get some deet on me. Couldn't do a thing without waving my arms and hat around constantly.
  14. 10 stands and 8 cameras on 86 acres. Seems like I don't have enough of either item...
  15. Congrats to Haley, and you too!
  16. Wooly, you've got some awesome artistic talent. Looks great! Even if I had the right touch, I wouldn't have the patience.
  17. Holy crap! I do 99% highway driving, and get 15 mpg regularly (when I lighten up my lead foot). I've seen as high as 18 on a trip.
  18. Yeah, the mpg is nothing to get excited about, but no repair bills in 11 years gave me a lot of extra $$ to cover a bit more gas.
  19. Most definitely agree. Next year is supposed to be a redesign, and I'm hoping they spruce it up a bit!
