  1. I personally wouldn't purchase either one since I am not a long range deer shooter. My .223 does fine at 200 yds. and less (yeah I know it has been discussed to death). If I were going to buy a upper for predators it would be a .17wsm rim fire but that is a little off topic

    Scared?

Interesting chart but what I find most interesting is the last two years across the board are significantly lower than the previous 5 year averages.
  3. Good for you...hope it works out and even it doesn't; you at least will have had an opportunity that many will not.
  4. 6.8spc No experience with either one but this seems to be the "new" cartridge of the year everyone is excited about for long range capabilities. .224 Valkyrie: The 224 Valkyrie is based on a 6.8 SPC case (necked down to .22 caliber), but comparing the two cartridges is an apples-to-oranges proposition. Designed by Special Forces personnel to increase the firepower of an M4 carbine, the 6.8 SPC uses a 0.277-inch diameter bullet and is based on a shortened version of the now-obsolete 30 Rem. case. “The 6.8 SPC does not lend itself to using high-BC bullets for extended long-range shooting,” Burns explains. “With the 6.8 SPC, you’re launching a short .277 or 6.8mm caliber, 90-grain projectile with a lower BC at 2,850 fps. The 224 Valkyrie has a long .224 or 5.56mm caliber, 90-grain projectile with a very high BC that leaves the muzzle at 2,700 fps. When designing the Valkyrie, Federal Premium engineers didn’t consider the 6.8 SPC a comparable load. Instead, we aimed to beat the long-range ballistics of the 223 Rem., 22 Nosler and 6.5 Grendel.” https://www.ammoland.com/2017/12/224-valkyrie-versus-the-world/#axzz5Be2Bfivw
  5. That's make two of us. I purposely waited til the last week in order to make the deadline. As of today no re-certification. My permit didn't have a expiration date when I got it and if takes them til doomsday I could care less.
  6. Other than the high capacity magazine that looks like a good coyote setup to me.
  7. Just think...if his plan works we could see a : "Made in America" or "Made in the USA" campaign again.
  8. Or drive...because of PLEA deals...Read this: A Monroe County Judge http://www.whec.com/news/judge-leticia-astacio-dwi-case-timeline-of-events/4507136/
  9. Other than Cuomo? Common attributes used in legislative definitions of assault weapons include: Semi-automatic firearm capable of accepting a detachable magazine. Folding or telescoping (collapsible) stock, which reduces the overall length of the firearm. A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
  10. Haven't you heard.....It's not the scary black guns....it is ALL guns that everyone hates and they are doing their best to get them outlawed.
  11. Not arguing a bit....but I know a person that got a driving under the influence 25 years ago, has been clean every since and got turned down on a permit application recently. Yet anybody with a clean record and has a screw or two loose can buy a gun and wreak havoc because their record is clean. If the penalties were stiff enough they might be a little more hesitant.
  12. The only thing background checks accomplish is keeping convicted felons, someone with a "shady" past, or a DWI from walking into a gun store and buying a gun. It hasn't stopped any gang members or nut jobs from getting them and never will. We need to enforce the current laws on the books and stiffen the penalties for committing a crime with a gun instead of allowing them to be plea bargained down to a lesser charge. Enforce what we have instead of making new ones.
  13. You might find this one just as fun...maybe more

  15. I used to but the way it is has been the last few years my policy has changed. Now I take what I can, when I can, and look for a trophy during gun season. Lately the objective has been just to see a deer during gun season.
  16. I agree 100 % even though it means we will be paying more for everything.
  17. I stand corrected. It was TRILLIONS four years ago Chinese Citizens Gather In Beijing Square To Watch U.S. National Debt Clock Strike $18 Trillion
  18. I agree 100%...we should be making it here instead of somewhere else but our dilemma is all the billions of dollars we(the US) have in debt is owed to china. Like going to your bank to ask for a loan and telling the loan officer he/she looks like an orangutan:
  19. Has to be bad since just about EVERYTHING we buy comes from China. The only good that may come from it is we may create jobs to make it here like we use to in the good old days. Farmers are already complaining because exporting to China is a big part of their income, but either way; in one form or another it is going to cost us more to buy just about anything.
