  1. The majoRity of the does do come into estrus the same time so I think that would be the peak. But some come earlier and some come later. My buddy shot a 140 ten point dogging a doe the middle of October this year. Last January I shot a9 pt that came in on a hot doe that was first being chased by a 4 pt. you never know my hunting group saw lots of big boys up on their feet around Halloween to about the 9th with some good chasing also but the majority of the chasing was observed the second and third week of Nov and slowed by thanksgiving. I did observe a nice eight pt and a spike together just feeding on thanksgiving morning. They fed about 75yds from me for 40minutes
  2. Thanks guys. Dont get me wrong im very happy. Especially because i cant get out much. Compared to a couple i laid eyes on opening day hes small. But yes happy
  3. Taken 6:30 am 11/11/12 came in from 100 yds out to challenge a 4pt that was feeding under me but obviously never made it.Not my biggest but happy to get em dont know how many more times I can get out.
  4. Cant figure it out. Anyone know how to post a pic from iphone
  5. Geno I agree man. Hard to believe a 170 eight. By the way yes I did shoot the basket eight. Now If I can figure out how to upload a pic from my cell.
  6. Geno a friend of mine saw it also. He said it scored 171. Haven't been out much myself due to work and the storm pretty much once a week went out yesterday and couldn't resist on a basket eight he came in at 6:30 am just cruising. Haven't seen any chasing but my buddies that have been putting the time in have scored well. Went out this afternoon and only saw a spike pestering a yearling doe. Guess it depends on where your hunting.
  7. I spent a total of nine hours in the tree today and only saw one 4pt at 4;15 My buddy that got the 140 ten last week had another 140 class chasing a doe hard passed him at 7 this morning. What the F$%^ I havent seen anything going on. I saw 7 buck opening day including 3 eights and its been down hill ever since.
  8. Geno it was a ten that went about 145. Although I do have a pic I cannot post it online. It is at a local taxi though.. It was a beautiful mature deer.
  9. I have only been out a couple of times earlier in the season but have a couple of buddies hunting steady. This past weekend seemed to be a spurt of chasing going on. Saturday morning first light one of them arrowed a 145 class ten that came in grunting behind a doe with a fawn, Also spotted on Sunday morning were two eights scent checking some does. Soon as my roof is done I will be out for the next three weeks and will post. Cant shoot em from the couch. Guess it depends on the area you hunt.
  10. John sent you an IM. Yes it is pre Remington. According to the serial number it was manufactured in 2004. Thanks Mike
  11. Im going sell my 45-70 Guide gun. Like new mint condition. Bought it to go bear hunting several years ago and went once. Put apprx two boxes of rounds through it at range. It is powered with a Leupold 3x9 scope. Its literally close to new as u get. I have my eye and mind set on getting a gun I have always wanted so I need to part with this one as I have no need for it. Total package $800.00 or trade for a Ruger 44 carbine International. Thanks Mike
