First time I've captured a bear on one of my trail cameras. Looks like a good sized one. This camera is located right in front of my main deer stand. I don't think I would have shot it - wouldn't know what to do with it besides being a tough drag uphill!

Opening day 2023 ranks up near the top when it comes to weather. Wind was terrible! Nothing moving.

We're overrun with Does here in Durham -4H- and hardly ever get a DMP for here ! During Bow / Crossbow season I had 8 Does run under my ladder stand , they never gave me a shot !
Hardly anything on my 5 cellular trail cameras since Saturday morning. Before I had all kinds of activity including at least 10 different bucks. What gives?

Me too!
Every property is different. What may be a trophy on one, would be passed at another. It's all good. And in real life it ain't like the hunting shows on TV !
Usually the ones making such a comment like above, watch too much TV, and hunt very little.

8j and my son turned 12 in April this year. He was excited to bow/duck hunt in the first place and then when they lowered the gun age he was even more so. He got his very first duck on youth/veterans weekend up north 3 weeks ago.
We bow hunted last weekend and he is gun hunting for the youth Columbus day weekend.
We are trying a bean field this morning, bumped a few setting up but then saw a really nice 6 at shooting time. He just stayed out of range I was comfortable letting him shoot and also worrying about backstop issues. The having to be on the ground rule is pretty tough with a rifle and angles.
