Lychee. My Maltese. Had her since she was 8 weeks old (first picture). She passed away late Oct last year. Since our son is so draining, me and my wife decided it would be best if we didn't have to take care of another family member until our son is a little older. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Sometimes at the range, I have to wear ear plugs under my ear muffs. Of course a single shot from a 410 is not where near that of a shooting range with guys blasting off high powered magnum rounds but a 2 year olds ear drums are also a lot more sensitive than an adults. I really don't know what the long term effects would be at that age. I wouldn't burn powder in front of my 2 year old out of fear that he would have decreased hearing at age 40.

If you're referring to my comments then you obviously aren't reading properly. Maybe its my fault for using a poor a example of a string jump in my own experiences but in my comment wasn't that a deer will jump the string at 100 yards, I was simply saying that you just hope that the deer doesn't decide to take a casual stroll at the same time you release the arrow. Kudos for being a good sport about it.

Unless its a zombie deer and walked away after you gutted it.

Sorry, didn't realize another thread was already opened on this. Mods, please remove this thread. Thanks.

Meant to say those who hunt out west.

Everyone makes their own ethics. I'm not bashing those who hunt. I'm simply saying what I would or would not do. It's okay to have a different opinion.

A 300 fps takes a full second to travel 100 yards but we all know not every bow really shoots at it's full specs. Still, when it's a matter of inches, a full second is a long time. I don't doubt someone can hit a paper plate at 100 yards in perfect conditions every time. Let's just hope that when you release the arrow, it isn't the same exact moment the deer decides he's finished with the grass there and takes a step or two forward. It could happen at 20 yards, I know: I had a doe jump my string at a little over 20 yards but at those distances there's less arrow flight time to move that much when its an unsuspecting deer.

With some new hunters here to learn, I guess it's better to talk about it rather than pretend it never happened. It may even be a new hunter how hits and lost one and is now asking for suggestions to improve. I do agree that it shouldn't turn into "chum".

I poop out all my trophies. They usually get flushed down the toilet.

Is Verizon anti-hunting?
Elmo replied to adkhunter71's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
You do have to admit that not a lot of people watch the Outdoor Channel. Even some hunters don't even watch it. For Optimum, it is not part of the basic package. I have to pay extra to have it and I only pay for it because of 2 shows. Meat Eater and Jim Shockey's Uncharted. I've also heard that if you DVR a show and watch it later, it doesn't show up on the ratings. They can only detect lives viewings. I'm not sure if this is completely true or not. -
Oh, yeah. The new show is kind of hard to watch. The last two are still sitting on my DVR and I always find some excuse to watch something else instead.

Scoped. Here's my own reasoning on it. I owe it to the animal that I use the most accurate and lethal implement I can comfortably use. No knock against those who are proficient with iron sights to make clean ethical kills. Just me personally. I think I'm good enough without glass on top but I'm much better with the glass so I'll pick the glass every single time. I don't ever feel the need to challenge" my shooting skills at a live creature. I happily satisfy that urge on paper.

Yet, still capable of a perfect head shot at a couple of hundred yards out.

Then you're sort of missing the point of the show. What seperates The Walking Dead from your typical zombie show is that the show is really about the break down of society and how it changes people. The zombies are really a back drop. In the first season, the zombies are a lot more "fresh". By season 5, they're mainly decomposed and rotted. As they naturally would be. So by season 5 you would expect that there are a little less zombies now.

Really? Your wife doesn't like that you hunt so much?
Elmo replied to nyantler's topic in General Hunting
My wife has not problem at all with me hunting. Some times I get cabin fever and she is the one that tells me I need to go out and do some hunting. Having my son changed that. That boy is a hand full. Now we come to an agreement that I only hunt one day out of the weekend so as long as I watch the baby and she gets to relax on the other day. Only seems fair because every time I come back from a hunt, my wife looks like she just spent 3 rounds boxing against Mike Tyson. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
