Yep, I listened to a couple of guys up the street sight in their MLs last night while I was shooting the bow. Went on right up to dark.

Great video, but one thing, you dont have to put the tag on the deer till you get it to your truck (or house if you are hunting near home or camp). Alot of people end up losing the tag on the drag out. I always fill the tag out and put it in my pocket or pack and then zip tie it onto the deer when I get to the truck.

Well, they were saying it was going to be a little rainy but calm Saturday, now they are saying it will be windy as well. Thats really going to change my plan for the day, but Sunday is looking better with half the wind and only 30% chance of rain.

He was injured though.

That sucks. You can get the test pole replacements pretty cheap.

I just retired my Mossy 500 20ga in favor of a Remmy 870 12. I hated the side saddle scope mount, as it always had problems staying tight. It was a decent gun with iron sights though, took down alot of deer with it including one or two at 125+ yards. She isnt a pretty gun, but was the first gun other than a BB gun that I ever owned. Its been put away until my daughter is old enough, then it will be given to her as her first shotgun. After she has her years with it, it will get passed to my son as his first shotgun. I plan on picking up a cantilever barrel for deer duty.

No prob dave. Paulie, like Elmo, Im an IT guy that spends most of my day in front of a computer, and I have dual screens at work, so the net is always up on one while my work (remote screens, etc) is up on the other. I spend alot of time waiting for software processes to run, so surfing the net helps make watching the paint dry more interesting lol.

Arrows make the same noise with field tips. The majority of what you are hearing is the friction of the air passing over the vanes. You can hear it when someone is shooting just down from you at the range. Deer have no idea what the noise is, but if they are on full alert, they will react the same to almost any noise.

Wouldnt matter if there was a 160" buck walking right behind it, the injured deer is going down.

Feedback on the site - Any problems?
WNYBuckHunter replied to HuntingNY's topic in General Chit Chat
Ive been talking to John about that. There really should be some notification sent out when we move posts around, etc. -
The site has 5 pins, figured Id use them all. They are pretty small, so they dont really obstruct the view. The 20 and 30 yard pins are pretty close, then theres a slightly larger gap between the rest. The two that get the most use are the 20 and 30. I could probably combine those two, but I dont want to have to remember to hold slightly high or low.

The farm itself operates under guidelines, but they can conduct hunts any way they want as long as they are conducted in closed areas (aka high fences).

About a week ago I was on my way over to drop my daughter off at her mom's when I noticed a guy standing next to his truck looking at something. I know he was glassing, so I stopped to see what he was looking at. There in the field stood 2 very nice bucks, one was an 8, just outside the ears, but nice and tall with a good body on him. Id say he was probably 3.5, but the other one was a big 10 with great tine length and very wide. His body was significantly larger, and Id say 5.5 or older. My daughter and I were taking turns looking at them through the binos as they fed, and my fiance started getting a little aggravated until I handed her the binos. Then she got it.

At a game farm? You are hunting animals that are owned by the farm, and live inside a fence, not wild animals that are owned by the people of the state of NY. Why would DEC have any power over that? Do they have power over what a farmer uses to kill their pigs or cows? You dont even need a hunting license at a hunting preserve.

Thats a great sounding recipe.

Yeah the owl is great!

I would go with a good 3 blade cut on contact. Stay away from mechs. Just my opinion. -
Sweet. I was just gonna ask when it was going to get to you.
