Yep, rifled slugs are fine in a rifled barrel. What you cant do is use sabots in a smooth barrel.

On the new ones, you have to take the rubber ends off, then inside, there are 2 screws to remove and the biscuit comes right out. Ill be changing mine after the season is over this year, so Ill to a little How-To with pics when I do it.

Ive got an old Schrade guthook. Holds a great edge and gets the job done. Ive thought about replacing it with a folding knife to make it a bit easier to carry, but a folder would just be tougher to keep clean and working. Part of my attempt to KISS.

Good luck, but in this market, 3 months isnt much. A buddy of mine has had their house up for over a year and had 25 different sets of people through it. All they get is lowball offers from wannabe flippers.

It will be good to shoot more with the hunting gear on. Ive done a little with my light jacket and gloves, but none with any base layers and such on yet. No way on the snow. The corn will never get harvested if it started snowing now. Ive been in the snow for opening day of bow, and you know, I wasnt that happy with it. Leaves on the trees, ice, heavy snow falling on my head off of the branches above me. Nope. Not what I enjoy early in the season.

I might be out Sunday evening, but I have alot to get done for bow season.

It wouldnt make sense to close down deer farms. There were what? 2 deer found with CWD in NY? How many deer farms are there? Id have to say the statistics say that CWD is extremely rare, even in captive deer its not that common. That would be like saying that because of the mad cow cases years ago, they should outlaw cows.

8 cameras on only 22 acres? How often are you checking them? Sounds to me like you might be putting too much pressure on the property. Either that or one of your neighbors may have started putting in food plots nearby, pulling some of the deer away from your property.

It wont bother the deer. Lots of guys use them and have no issues. The general consensus seems to be that deer just do not associate the smell with danger.
