  1. I built two a couple years ago and they're still in my garage

I've heard of staying close to home for hunting season, but I think that is pushing the limits a little.

  2. I'm not sure what you're asking? You have to have loose ground for the oats so you have to break it yearly

I was just curious, trying to learn a little here. Can we use something else if we don't have a full size disc. I have heard some people trying to just till it, I have also heard of some using a set of "rock pulling fingers" rear dozer attachment just to break up the soil.
I guess the better question is will anything work?

  3. I have just started researching these and have just finished building 4 of them. It was pretty simple, now we will see if we have any results next year. Since we do have an active wood duck population in our area I figured it couldn't hurt to help increase their odds of survival.

I was just hoping some members would have some personal experiences that would increase my chances and would pass through along.

  4. I did not know the distinction between the semi auto and bolt guns regarding threaded barrels.
I'm guessing for a muzzle break, since suppressors are illegal to hunt with in NY. Why else would you have as threaded barrel?

I did know that on semi auto weapons if you have a muzzle break it needs to be pinned and welded correct?

  5. Cut steak into bite sized pieces - dry rub -you could marinate but I never have -use butter knife to put dab of cream cheese ( we like the jalapeño cream cheese ) - cut bacon strips into 3 pieces ( one piece is perfect for the bite sized ) - tooth pick bacon around. Cream cheese softens pretty good but bacon keeps it contained so it doesn't ooze out. Can't tell you the # of people who've tried venison for the first time this way and loved it. 200-225 degrees. When bacon is done but not crispy they're done. Enjoy

That is very interesting I'll have to give it a try. Have you tried it with different curd of venison and are some better than others?

  6. Well you could go the route of using hormore treatment, but I never did. All I did was put it in water for a day or two and then plant it in the ground. You could also just take a clipping, make a cut in the bottom inch of the clipping, stick a corn kernal in that and plant that in the ground  and stick it in the ground. Make sure you take a good sized clipping from the past years growth and plant it pretty deep. You want to cover at least half of the clipping in the dirt. Anything covered in dirt will sprout roots. Make sure the cuttings you take are cut at a 45 degree angle. I have planted 15 trees like this and only 3 died (i believe a dog killed those tree's because they did well for months until one day they just died). My father has also done this many times with my grandfather as well as my other grandfather doing it as well more times then he can count. The benefit of this is you can take 10 or more clippings from a tree and you should have a some that make it and just pick the healthiest of the bunch. It also helps that the only cost associated in this is the dirt if you choose to buy it. If you like, I could make a video of this when I prune my peach and fig tree's.
There is a better and more efficient way of doing it that has been passed through the generations in my family, but its very hard to explain over a message.

This I would love to see a video of .

It definitely would benefit the area

How do you think this guy died?
Could it have been hit by a car. Or are you thinking injury that aggravated into death by hunting?

  8. Heard something similar.
Since 99 % of the quills are on their rear end . They run circles around them make them get dizzy then dive into their bellies and just rip it apart
