Hi, I'm semi-disabled (basically, can't hunt myself at this time) and I'm looking for how to obtain some deer meat/bones/organs for nutrition purposes. (Hopefully I'll be able to hunt myself someday after I resolve some of my health issues.) I've been searching around and all I can find is info on venison donations for the "hungry". I wouldn't want to take food away from those who can't afford it - I have financial resources, just don't know how to get the deer. I see there is a refrigerated truck in Southold where you can pick up a whole deer but I'm not sure I'd be able to transport it to a processor as I just have a regular car. What I can do is pick up processed meat from a processor, if someone is willing to donate it. I'm also interested in the organs. From what I understand hunters remove this right away after killing a deer. Not sure what you do with it, but I would like to get some. I'm in Nassau but would drive anywhere in Suffolk. Any leads?
