Ahh, opening day... where will I be. Oh ya, in Maine, in a church watching my niece get married.
-
Buddy of mine got a trail cam video of a spike bull last week. He's in Hoags corners.
-
I'll be in Maine for a wedding. I thought her father taught her better. Never schedule events during hunting season.
-
Dam, I was just thinking a good dog steak would be great tonight...

My hunting area definitely got a good coverage of frost. Unfortunately it got a good covering of yotes too..
-
Shot in school yard. Try that today, lol...
-
Only thing I don't like about the first frost is it means leaf cleanups are not far behind. Make good money doing them, but man it gets friggin old quick.

Had 32° this morning. First frost last year was September 19th. Was mainly elevated surfaces, but my hot tub cover had some on it, so I'm sure there were areas that had frost on the ground. Shop roof and 4 wheeler seat were solid frost.

DNA testing confirms gray wolf killed near Cooperstown

These quacks will do anything to get hunting stopped. I'm sure DEC knows this groups reputation and is proceeding with caution. -
That burger looks fantastic. One thing with tric, forgot the formula, deep freeze kills it. Colder the temp the shorter the length in the freezer.
-
Last yr we had our first frost on Sept 19th. This morning was close at 37°. Long range forecast doesn't look like my area is getting one anytime soon. That frost always gets me a little more excited about the upcoming season.

Wow. Take the blinders off.

Doesn't matter. Livestock is livestock. People make money from selling, breeding cattle, that's ok, but deer inst? No, people are not spending money to hunt cattle, but they still make money from the sale. I see no difference.

Red dot on scope for hunting good idea bad idea Thoughts

Not feeling it. I've shot deer with my 4.5x14 as close as the bottom of my ladder stand to 300yrds. Not big on running shots. I could see still hunting really think areas where your shot is under 50 yards. I'd say 80% of my rifle deer were in the red dot range, but 3 of my biggest bucks would have been difficult with a red dot and 1 about impossible. -
There one issue. The web site asks you to pick the model to get the proper firmware. For some reason, fusion isn't listed. They have pictures next to the model numbers, and nothing matches my cam including the model numbers listed.

I've got a stealth cam fusion cell cam. It will be my third season running this cam. I reactivated the cam couple weeks ago. Seemed to work fine for the first few days. Since then it will not transmit photos. Pulling the card shows lots of pics not sent. Called CS. On hold for over a hr. Decided to call first thing next morning. This time I get the same message while on hold, but now they are offering to leave your # and they will get back to you. So instead of holding I leave my #. It's been 8 days. Nothing... I've tried calling several times, and I was on hold for over two hrs Monday with zero results. My tactacams have been flawless. Last stealth cam product I'll ever purchase.

The hunting operation? I know the breeding operation is his, but I don't recall him saying he owns the hunting operation. Could be wrong, it happens..
-
Without going through 14 pages, did he ever say it was his place?

I like the authentic droopy ear. Great work as always. -
Schodack is in Rensselaer county. Only 20 minutes from me. Dec article doesn't mention Columbia county, thankfully. Lower Columbia county was hit hard last yr.

Everyone has a limit of what they are comfortable with. I'd never pay for a hunt like that, but if I was invited to try and take a deer like FS is describing, I'd be all over it. No I wouldn't have it mounted or brag about killing it, I'd be upfront about my experience, wether it turned out to be a challenge, or as you think a Bronx zoo hunt. Hell, I shoot squirrels off my bird feeder, don't brag about it but they still taste good.
-
I can go on a camping/hunting trip in the daks anytime I want. A free hunt, even if it's a high fence, I'm in. Just seeing the operation, some huge bucks would be worth the experience. If I was lucky enough to shoot the target buck, great.

They sure looked real, lol. Thought from the pic you were still using horses. Watched a show yrs ago about logging with horses. It's definitely not a easy operation.
