  3. Not a flake here in old Chatham. You can keep it.
  4. Shield .40 cal IWB Galco kingtuk at 5 'oc. Bought a custom appendix IWB, but can't get used to it. Don't remember the brand. It was several years ago.
  5. Ya, that left a mark. Cousin was leaving for work one morning. Got to the end of his driveway, and there a guy climbing out of the ditch wearing a helmet. Turns out he hit a deer with his MC about a 1/2 hr before, and was unconscious for a spell.
  6. Another fantastic job. I get compliments on the deer skull all the time. Wish you were closer, I'd love to see some more of your work, and pick something else up.
  7. I was a little nervous last weekend. Had 7" at the house. 6 miles away there was only 1/2". Didn't plow my driveway. Way too soft.
  8. My nephew's 870 had the original x full tube. He killed a bird every year till he passed in '98. I still have his 870, and use it every few yrs. Killed a few birds at 40 yrds. His same choke in my NWTF 1100 wouldn't kill a ostrich at 30 yrds. So, ask 10 people the best choke, you'll get 11 answers.
  9. I'm old... Ok not THAT old, lol, but have always used a two bead sighting. Often thought about a red dot. Use one on my indoor .22 pistol. Just never broke down and bought one for the my turkey Slayer. I've definitely missed a few times over the years. Last time was 5 yrs ago. Plain and simple, I messed up. I knew if I had a red dot, that bird would be dead. Still old school to this day. Just don't know why... Lol
  10. She's a rescue. Part lab, part grayhound, and part who knows. Lol All I know is her chase instinct is above average.. actually, well above average. Lol.
  11. Ok. Let's see if it worked. Thanks fasteddie....
  12. It's a Android phone. Thing is, it just started happening. Photos in the past have always posted correctly. I'll try this the next time.
  13. Phone was held up right. But there loading sideways. Why?
  14. We must be brothers from a different mother. My gout is very similar to yours. Knees, ankles, wrist, elbows and toes. Yrs ago I was hospitalized because of attacks that were so severe. Those that have never had gout, your lucky. The weight of a bed sheet on your big toe feels like someone is hitting it with a sledgehammer. My trigger is seafood. But if I eat too much venison, I'll get a attack. I definitely don't forget to take my daily meds, and have a supply of meds on hand if I get an attack. Good luck Lawdwaz. Hope you feel better soon.
  15. The Tom was in the bushes with the hens, as Jake was left to stand in the road.
  16. I've got a stand that's been moved onto it's 3rd tree because the first two ended up dying. Beginning to think this stand is poisoning the trees. Lol
  17. Last birds I seen in my yard was the last day of late muzzleloader. About a hr ago I Was sitting in the recliner and my dog started going nuts. Under our bird feeder was a lone Jake. Unfortunately my dogs scared him away.
  18. I've made that mistake a time or three, and a few others. Lol. Back in the late 70's early 80's there were few turkey hunters around. And those I knew we're just as green as myself. I remember shaking so bad I couldn't have hit the inside of a barn if I was standing inside it. Lol. Definitely some great memories.
  19. I get those call quite often, and I get excited when I do. I've taken many toms. Not bragging, but I know I can get a 3+ yr old tom without too much trouble. My excitement level goes through the roof when I'm calling for another person and a tom is on the way in. Seeing the hunter start to shake, their breathing ragged, gets me doing the same thing.
  20. Picked up the 570 the other day. For what I need, it will do just fine. Only wood I burn is in my 250gal smoker, so smaller maple, hickory will be easy. Anything larger and I'll hop on the JD tractor. Don't plan on trail riding much. Just a around the yard, hunting machine. The last wheeler I had was a 97 Polaris 425 magnum, so this is a definite upgrade. I have to have a full auto as my left ankle is fused, so there's no way I could comfortably shift. Only have 2 miles on it, lol. But I'm sure it will serve me well. Well, not sure why I've got a sideways pick. Lol
