Here's a shoulder mount of a Maine Black Bear Kurt did for my Dad probably 10-15 years ago. Sorry, I don't have a straight on pic.

I'm confident you will be happy with Kurt's work. He's done probably 30 mounts for my Dad and me combined.

I agree, both look good. I almost got that lazy open jaw look on my mountain lion.

When I was younger, I always thought I would like every predator mount to have an open mouth, but then I changed and now prefer the closed mouth (more natural in my opinion). Use google images, its the best way to see a bunch of mounts at the same time.

I use one of those yellow jacket target bags for my Excalibur when shooting field points. The bolts can be pulled out with 2 fingers. I think the yellow jacket target bag was like $50-$60. For broadheads, I just a small cheap broadhead target like $15-$20. I use one hand to hold the target and the other to pull it out. This is my discharge target as well, so I shoot at like 10 yards at over 300fps. No issues. Shooting a field point into a broadhead target could make getting the bolt out very tough.

Field points or broad heads? Regardless, if your using the right target you should be able to pull them out with 2 fingers. If not, they can be a real pain to get out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
