  1. By the way, regarding the shot, per the voicemail my Dad left me, it sounds like the shot was slightly back and hit the liver with a complete pass through.
  2. 11/14: UPDATE....Good news, not so good news, and more good news. Good news: After almost 3 hours of searching (no blood because of rain), my Dad found the buck laying near the stream about 200 yards from where he last tracked it last night. Not so good news: The buck is not the 8 pointer, turns out it is just a big 5, maybe 6 (depending on actual length). More good news: The 8 is still out there, so hopefully I will get a crack at him. My Dad is not computer savvy whatsoever, but of course took pics. So I will get my hands on the pics on Wed night or Thursday and will of course post them. I am interested to see if this buck is the 5pt we've had pics of all summer or not. My Dad is 100% sure it is not the same 5pt that he missed on opening day of Xbow. My Dad has a long day ahead of him dragging this buck out of the woods. He already got it back across the stream but probably has another couple of hours of dragging left to do. I'm just pumped he found it.
  3. I've been hunting Elk in New York since 1996, still haven't seen one yet though.
  4. Thanks, me too! If I would have hunted all day yesterday I would have seen it and shot it. But I usually only hunt Sunday mornings, since I can't take Monday off from work and never want to end up in a situation like he is right now. He's retired so he can look all day today for it. I honestly think its a dead deer, just hoping the 1" of rain didn't wash away all blood. If there's any blood left, my Dad will find it.
  5. That is a nice yote, but don't think it cracks 50lbs. Fur makes things look much bigger. The Lynx in my avatar was very long and looks very big, looks 40lbs+ when it was actually 25lbs on a legit scale.
  6. 11/23: I hunted dark - 10am and saw nothing. My Dad hunted dark to dark and saw a doe around 10am. For the afternoon, he moved to my spot and 345pm he saw a deer trotting through the woods a ways off. At 350pm it stopped at 110 yards between some trees and my Dad saw a nice big rack. He held behind the shoulder and took a shot with the shotgun. The buck spun around and went over the hill. With dark approaching, my Dad gave it only 20 minutes and went down to the spot he shot and found blood heading towards a stream, then looked up and saw the buck trotting off (on the other side of the stream). He marked the spot and went back to his truck to get his waders since the stream is about 3-4' deep. Knowing that heavy rain was coming later that night into Monday, he crossed the stream and continued to the follow the blood trail in the dark. It was definitely a pass-thru because there was blood on both side of the deer tracks. He came upon a blowdown and was hoping to the find the buck there, but instead found a bunch of dirt kicked up and a pool of blood. At this point, he decided not to push the buck anymore, since he clearly jumped it. 11/24: My Dad headed out around 9am this morning after the heavy rain died down. I really hope he finds this buck. He has only lost maybe 2 or 3 deer in his 40+ year career hunting. I have a feeling this buck is the 8pt we have pics of. I know my Dad will spend all day canvassing the area, just hope this buck didn't run too much further before bedding down to die. Only thing I can think of is that my Dad hit him a little low since it was 110 yards or maybe a little back? But my Dad found no green, so he doesn't think it was a gut shot.
  7. Nowhere close to 150lbs in my opinion. Here's a picture of my Dad with a 125lb or 135lb. (can't remember) Male wolf in British Columbia, which is a very big one. Many wolves in Canada, Minnesota, etc. don't break 100lbs.
  8. Please post these links you found, Thx. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Grow to what? They are already at least 3.5, so now your saying you only shoot 4.5? Or 5.5? Many good bucks in 3N? Please provide some data. Goodnight. Look forward to seeing where this thread is by the morning. Also looking forward to finally receiving a PM from you. Good luck with your 2014 taxes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Last time I checked a 100" deer does not mean it's mature. Many 3.5 year olds around my area are barely 100" if that. Hunting farm fields and killing bigger deer doesn't make you a better hunter. It's not my fault the deer in my area eat bark and the occasional acorn. Around here there are many 2.5s that are only 4s or 6s Here's 3 examples of 3.5s that aren't huge from the property I hunt in 3N You want me to be impressed? Come down and Shoot a 120" deer in public land in 3N then I'll be impressed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. LOL. So your offended that I ratted you out? You openly admitted to poaching. The city? I work there, don't live there. Haven't lived there since 2009. You continue to assume you know everything about me. For the 20th time, feel free to PM me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. No clue where your getting your information. Because I hunt with my Dad, I was given everything on a silver platter? I was raised in an average middle class family. I made more $ at 24 years old than my Parents did combined. So again, not sure what they are giving me? I'm 30 years old and in 2011 I bought a 1 bedroom co cop with my own $ for $150k (no mortgage) in Westchester county. Would you would like documentation? I will send it to you. I have nothing to hide. Unfortunately, November and December is busy season where I work so I'm limited to the days I can take off to hunt. That's why I take days off to go on hunting trips in October. Again, feel free to PM to discuss anything further. You still haven't proven you make double what I make. You have some serious problems man. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I've come to the conclusion that FSW was one of those dorks in high school who always got picked on. Now, in an effort to try to fit in and be cool, he exaggerates every single story. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Sounds like FSW lives in Hunts Point lol. What a joke. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Where at? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I only hunt Saturday's full day and Sunday mornings. It's not convenient to drive hours up north each way. I've killed 3 animals with dogs (2 in a tree and 1 on the ground) and several others without dogs. I've never even hunted from a treestand. I'm sure I can bring rifle up to your property and shoot a nice whitetail from a couple hundred yards away. The better question is how you would do hunting down here? Funny how you only bring up the dog hunts. You sound like a jealous old man. Have you ever been outside of the northeast? By the way, and more importantly, there's no need go back and forth for days on here. This is not about hunting, it's about your bold income statement. So I'm still waiting for your PM with details....Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I always hunt TG till 10am. Got 1 buck on TG, a 3pt in 2011 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I could care less about the quality of whitetails on your property. I would of course shoot bigger whitetails if I have property with food plots, farm fields etc. Comparing Putnam County to other places in NY makes no sense. Funny how you continue to try to change the subject and attempt diss my ability to hunt. If you honestly think I couldn't kill a 100"+ whitetail on the properties you hunt, that's hilarious. Back to the subject, still waiting on your bold statement. I look forward to your PM details, thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. 11/22: continued. My dad saw nothing all day. At 4:15, I saw a buck walking away from me about 130 yards away, it was a buck, not the 8, but maybe the 5 or the weird 3/4/5. Tried a quick bleat but he kept going. Onto tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. It's been like this for years. Nothing new. Some years are better than others. Between my Dad and I we have close to 30 bucks out of this spot in the last 31 years. Typically a nearby gun club has hunters pushing deer to us as well. Never monsters but my dad has many 7,8,9s out of this spot. Not many other options nearby in Putnam County Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. The 2 mile stretch is only a few hundred yards deep. Doubt it equates to that many acres. We hunt 8 acres Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
