    Sitting on the ground in my public land spot. Thick in here, hopefully the big buck I spooked last year comes back. I need redemption... Can't wait until Saturday morning and can get to my other spot in my home town...

    Tracks and beds all around my stand area. Someone took my climber off the tree it was at the base of, left it about 15 yards away on the ground, and cut my pull rope, leaving me about 3’. Not what I wanted to see opening morning, lucky I found it in the snow though.

    New stand spot. The wind is blowing the right direction mostly. Couldn’t get as high off the ground as I wanted, but I have a good feeling. Good of luck to the evening watchers!

    Its killing me being at work today.... Should not have volunteered for overtime. Somebody shoot something!

    Left my stand about 10:20... worked my way down the hill towards the truck. I get down near the road, about 70 yards away where I never see deer. I look to my left and there is a 6point standing 20ish yards away just staring at me. I stopped, grabbed an arrow, knocked it, pulled up, drew and aimed, and in that instant that deer bound off. I was just happy to see something, this all happened about 10:30ish.

    I can’t stop thinking about moving my stand, steelhead fishing and 2 McDonald’s sausage McMuffins. I think I made a mistake moving it from my usual spot.

    Climbers are hard to nap in. Squirrels and chickadees so far for me. At least the rain stopped in 7R.

    Sick of rain. I’m debating on driving the hour, but I need my trail cam card.

    It’s semi public land, Cornell college property. 4 years in this spot and this is the first person I’ve seen. I guess I can’t complain. I can’t see or hear where she is now. Which worries me a little.

    Dang. Some lady just came walking by my stand fast. Wearing orange, looking like she is doing trail maintenance of some kind. Walked right by and never saw me. She walked straight into where the deer usually come from. I don’t know if I should wait it out or go home and drink some beer.

    2.5 hour in stand in 7R. nothing but squirrels. Wind Keeps swirling and going wrong direction. First sit of the season, vehicle problems have left me on the couch for weeks until today. Obligatory scenery pic.

    I've been hunting their properties for about 3-4 years now. It took a season or so but I finally have a spot where i at least see a deer more often than not. 2 seasons ago, I saw the biggest buck ever saw in my life, 15 yards broadside, couldn't get a shot. Never saw it again. I've shot a couple doe down there. I drive down from Syracuse, I've see more deer on cornell property than i have in the places i have to hunt in 6K or 7A. I'm just happy to see and shoot a doe, i'm not the best hunter, so my expectations are never really that high...lol

    I do not enjoy inconell. Haven't ran it in about 10 years. I have it pretty good. I program in a shop that is all Brass, Aluminum, plastic and some 12L14 jobs on Turn Mill and Swiss machines.
