That's why u use antifreeze..kills smell.

Pruning is a great stimulant though on old trees a slow approach works better as it produces less shock. Removing a 1/3 of the limbs each year over 3 years is advisable . To big a shock can kill the tree
-
I have also seen it done with water and float seed on top they jump into bucket to eat. and drown
-
Yes that is the plank method they sell versions of both on amazon..I find the beer can on a piece of wire works and at no cost
-
I always thought a bucket trap setup over the toilet bowl would be better .. just flush away the carcasses in spring ....

5 gallon Bucket of antifreeze about 4 in deep., a spinner over the top of it with peanut butter on it and a ramp for them to walk up.. no smell will have bucket of dead mice in spring

Wireless/Cell trail camera research/input needed
G-Man replied to J sin's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
I dont think I could ever go cellular.. I get 2500 plus photos a week on several cams running 14 cams at the moment I really dont see a benifet... my phone would be vibrating non stop.. let alone extra charges if they only allow 1500 pics -
Leave them high push over with tractor.. if short stump dig a hole under it fill 1 gallon bag with fertilizer and diesel fuel. 1 ft length of cannon fuse and run..

Friend spent ton lifting his truck leveling kit some tunable chip for motor, knocked up his fiance she couldn't jump to get into it anymore has to sell it at a big loss and get something more practical.. always laughed at his lift my convertable has done more off road than most lifted trucks I see. Guy with camp up the road had a party every summer al the city people come down with their 4x4 trucks that they drive every day to work 4 miles..meanwhile my little Toyota Camry is sitting next to them and I'm laughing.. he asked why I said all you guy live on plowed paved roads have 4x4.. I drive 80 miles to work all year with that camry!! He asked how I get up the hill in winter ..I looked and him and said in drive...lol

No , learning how a deer dies from a cut vs trama from a bullet is a whole course in itself as well as learning where to aim and blood trail .and range limitations. It belongs in a bow course. The whole muzzleloader requirement sign this piece of paper and your good is ridiculous...
-
I beg to differ 100 yards from a flintlock is a common thing same as any muzzleloader just a more finicky ignition system. They are not the smooth bore brown best your thinking of. Pennsylvania only allows flintlock and it's an effective and beloved season there.
-
My 1/2 hp does a lot an hour I cant feed it fast enough . Not sure what a high capacity would do unless your a commercial operation
-
Primitive muzzleloader would be a flint or matchlock.. what it really comes down to is more deer need to be taken and adding crossbow to archery would do that. My pick at traditional archery was not possible and I know it but if preserving archery is the real reason nyb doesnt want crossbow in than take prime hunting and make it traditional archery only as an appeasement. You will still kill more deer in regular archery season with the addition of crossbow. But buck take would be reduced as well as pressure for 2 weeks before gun season ..

When I buy a bow or crossbow I buy the best I can or if you will high end. I will not replace it until technology has changed enough to warrant it. My bow is only 8 years old now and the one before that was 15 years old when I retired it. Limbs went from vertical to parallel nothing has changed with compounds since then to make a big enough difference to me to get new. My crossbow is 4 years old and is still one of 4 I know of that are over 400fps. Though reverse limb tech is interesting to me as for balance the speed is about the same 400 fps. I have even went and tried a few reverse limb crossbows for feel.. they have not impressed me enough to warrant a near 2000.00 dollar purchase. So I'll be keeping my crossbow till prices drop on them as the only thing I would be replacing is balance....

I would bet some would pick up traditional just to hunt those 2 weeks

The reason I can see being against full inclusion is simply the loss of a harder learned skill. Crossbows being easier and more accurate . In ohio for example the take from crossbow now exceeds regular bow. As was said in another thread many would give up bow for crossbow if it was legal all season. Archery was started as a primitive season . Imo that was lost with compounds. To me now it is simple arrow projected by string. Even if full inclusion I would still demand restriction on crossbow draw and width. It's really no different than regulations on gun season for.caliber and magazine capacity. Personally maybe moog would like it as well in would like to see a true primitive archery only.season perhaps the 2 weeks during the rut before gun. And full inclusion from oct 1 to oct 30th. Crossbows are more accurate and more deer should be taken with it than bow no reason to help it out by subjecting rut crazed bucks to its accuracy. Herd management is about killing doe and that falls in line with crossbows accuracy and can better be accomplished during October. Traditionalists would not take that many rut crazed bucks and this would also leave more for gun season making gun hunters appeased with their added opportunities.

Personally Never cared for glass calls unless its glass under slate.. I also prefer non traditional locator calls my only.exception is an old quakerboy owl hooter can.

Really? I pick up my bow a few weeks before season and it's right on , kisser button ,peep and sights.. plus I would bet 90% or more never practice again once season opens..the just go hunting ..long bow season 6 weeks long.. I even have friends who shoot 1 practice arrow and hunt and kill deer every year. Traditional bows yes .. today's compounds..much practice not really needed..

With today's bows and sighting systems it's a lot more common. I use multiple 3 d targets and blocks and shoot 1 arrow at each ( almost my own private 3d range) was breaking way to many arrows ,broken nocks, holes in fetching or stripping fetching off, and the Robin hood.. got to expensive and this was with aluminum arrows.. never even took a chance when I switched to carbon would be way to expensive. I put my cash into extra targets and they last for years.. arrows well at least the only ones I replace now are broken or lost on game..
