its getting closer to frost time. check your plot corn to know if your corn will make it to black tip.http://www.thompsonslimited.com/2014/09/26/corn-maturity-drydown/- 1 reply

exactly take out you most upcoming prospects in a high hunter density area and you can hygrade a herd quickly. yes a spike can become a 10 pt but isnt it better to leave the 1.5 year old 8pt? next year hes at least an 8 and bigger.. the spike well hes ready behind developmentally and may take up to 4 or 5 years to catch up and become what hes possible. leave the 1.5 and possibly 2.5 year ols alone if your cameras show bucks that are older and better. as i said the top bucks on your camera survey should be your targets and if a stray wander through ot is only shootable if as large or larger than your top bucks.. imo best way to ensure your getting most out of your property.

very. nice like the form of its rack.. hope you get a chance at him

Squirrels cutting hickory nut in the tree next to me, chattering as they run up and down the tree, All the commotion seems to scare the deer, I mean how am I suppose to hear? If I had a gun I'd end all the chatter, A load of 8's is what is required, Alas I only have my bow, Why I'm still sitting here I don't know, Thus is my morning in deer stand heaven, Sitting on my ass in this freezing weather, There's a buck have to go .... its just a 4pt it gets a pass back to sitting on my ass.....

point restrictions are one way to hy grade your herd quickly. your better off doing a camera survey and marking your top 3 to 5 bucks..those should be your goal. points and spread as simple guidline s for the masses on your own place differnt and better methods are available

it sits on the gun rack you can try it if you want . found youth hs vest for your daughter as well

had a single shot 12 ga smoothbore , the slug would hit the ground 50 yards in front of you if shoting at a target 2 ft off the ground at 50 yards when standing . needless to say didnt use it for deer hunting. that being said there are some that are amde for slug hunting and i would use those.

all wild boars are nearly unpalatable in my experiance. shoot the sow much better tasting without all that testosterone in them. your biggest problem will be bringing all the meat home.

things pop into my head from time to time..hope you enjoy.. The first hints of color apppear on the trees Golden rod and ragweed blooming making some sneeze A chill in the morning and heavy dew A cold rain makes everything smell new Red apples hanging on the tree Ouch one just fell and hit me. Birds flock together in anticipation of heading south Squirrels and chipmunks carrying nuts in their mouth. Soft crunching of footsteps in fresh fallen leaves A buck's antlers shaking a tree. A swoosh of an arrow the hiss of the string I sure hope I used the right pin. Crimson puddles on the leaves This is what early fall means to me.

i wont get into ethics ,but shooting running deer is not hard to do and can be learned very easily. there is a saying 10% of the hunters kill 90% of the game and there is reasons behind that. practice is a big one. with bow close still shots are the norm and a button can he identified pretty easily. gun is much different and different methods of hunting are used. id beyond antelered or anterless may be all that is possible
