  1. Nice! What part of Kansas ? Public land or private.
Kansas and  Missouri  are on my want/to do list of places  to hunt.

North central Kansas. It was private property. There is a lot of public land aka wiha around here. About 40 minutes from me is a lake with a lot of public access and great deer hunting. I’ve take some deer there. Downside is having to drag it out. No motorized access.

  2. story?

Not really much to tell. Had a bunch of young bucks chasing does around in front of me in an alfalfa field. All hell broke loose in the timber east of me with does and more young bucks coming flying out. Then this guy came charging out looked around. He just strutted on over and went behind me. Figured he’s get my wind. But he didn’t. He came up along the timber nose to the ground. 30 yds broadside and I stopped him and shot. He went maybe 40 yds across the field and fell over. Double lunged him with a Rage hyperdermic.

  3. Guys and gals. I won’t even pretend to know what y’all are going through. Here in KS we have what’s called WIHA walk in hunting area and there’s a lot of it . It’s great. A lot of people think it gets the crap hunted out of it which it actually doesn’t because if you harvest a deer you have to drag it out. No vehicle traffic allowed. The state leases the land from landowners. There are some big deer taken off of it. But you have to be willing to do the work. I’ve carted deer 3/4 of a mile to a mile before. Is it worth it. I think so. 7817f9218ed99ce2a9d4f5878b94ad5b.jpg

  4. I had mice in my lawn mower over the winter and cleaned out a big nest .
I decided to change the spark plug in my Honda Forman ATV and clean the battery terminals . Lo and behold there was a mouse nest back by the battery and there was some chewed wires . I broke out the electrical tape and did a minor repair . I placed some Moth Balls ( the male moths weren't happy ) in a few areas in and around locations on the ATV . I don't know if they will deter any mice or not .
I looked up some electronic deterrants  and they appear to be pretty much useless . Has anyone had any luck on getting rid of outside mice ? I have the mower and the ATV stored in separate sheds .

All I can say is. We have 3 cats outside that we feed and they kill everything. Don’t eat it but I never have problems with mouse or pack rat destruction. They might get a bird once in awhile but nothing else makes it through the gauntlet.

  5. To the OP. I have the R15,R25,and a DPMS Oracle with 1” bull barrel. The DPMS has the factory trigger and is great. The two Remington’s have both had trigger jobs done by the armorer that does the Air Force shooting team’s weapons. All are tack drivers. Hope this helps.

  6. Yeah my FIL bought a mule and the hauling ability is what I want it for. The ranger is nice but the bed is a little small, I need something to haul firewood in and out of the woods. I'm thinking about one of those dumping trailers but full of firewood it would just push my 4 wheeler around. I want to get to the point where I buck the logs and split right there in the woods leaving the mess there and not in my driveway.

My ranger has a 1250lb payload capacity and the bed dumps. Idk if the sxs still comes with that or not. I too am using it for firewood, hunting, screwing off as we have a Bryan outdoor wood furnace and it likes wood. 2-3 cords a month. Can get back where I can't go with a pickup. And it leaves a light foot print.

  7. I just traded a $400 marlin 30-30 for this polaris 700. Its a guy i used to work with. Sled runs good, shocks just rebuilt. It has a electrical issue with the headlight and tail light. Easy money if i wanted to flip it. But i think ill enjoy it if we get snow again.

I rode one of those once. Ended up with 32 stitches in my mouth after my buddy said when we get to where the field opens up go as fast as you want. I did but he forgot to tell me that it didn't open up where I thought because the creek bank was covered with 6' of snow. Windshield went up under my face cover on the helmet I was wearing. Didn't even know until we were headed in and my face unthawed a little and the blood just started flowing.

  8. You should be ashamed of yourself. How do you sleep at night?
I'll give you $1500 to take it off your hands and clear your conscience.
    Because I care... :drinks:

Ok. I hit the wrong quote button.

I don't feel bad when someone won't work on their own equipment or are to cheap to take it in and have it fixed. I don't get lucky very often. But when Lady Luck smiles on me at least she does it right

  9. That'll be my next investment, I think I'm going with a Mule though instead of the Ranger.

Mule is a good machine several people around here have them. This was right place right time. And I've wanted one since hunting out of one in Wyoming.
