  1. I'll check out some surplus sites - my wife might be slightly upset if I cut holes in the sheets! Thanks for the advice!
  2. This thread has inspired me to get out in the next week or so. I've got my caller and decoy, headlamp, and red light for my rifle, but I'm wondering about camo - my jacket makes me look like a leafy bush. Do I have to invest in winter colors or can I get away with rolling with my deer gear for now?
  3. It's not a stock, it's actually a new SCR lower made by a company called Ares. It's compatible with pretty much all AR uppers and designed to comply with laws in restrictive states like NY. I like it a lot, especially since it lets me change calibers/uppers at will, but I wish it was priced a little more reasonably. My lower ran just north of $600.
  4. Try an Ares SCR. It's NY compliant and compatible with all AR uppers so, if you just buy the lower, you can build whatever caliber upper you want (small frame, of course). I built a 6.5 Grendel upper with a pinned and permanently attached thread protector and it's proven nice and handy, and a tack driver, too. Just like an AR, you can pop the two takedown pins and the rifle breaks down into two pieces.
