  1. I went out this morning saw 7 deer in the first 2 hours all 75 to 100 yards out. Off to work gonna go back out at 2:00
  2. Personally I enjoy hunting with a compound bow and have no need at this time for a x bow. I do have several older relatives that can't pull a compound bow and hold it due to medical problems so I do see the x bow as a great way to extend someones season.
  3. I hunted Rattlesnake hill for 25 plus yrs and can tell you that after the first 2 days of gun it's like a ghost woods, no one there. For me it had never been the distance of the drag but the terrain of the drag. Parts of Rattlesnake will make you suffer if you shoot a deer. One year 4 of us shot shot 7 deer in the morning. We started dragging them out at noon. We finished at 8 at night. It's allot of work but a very rewarding place to hunt. Oh yeah and we were all in are 30 except my uncle who was 70.
  4. I have followed Ted Nugent for years and have no problem with him being a spokesperson for hunting and the 2nd amendment. Ted has done allot for the sports that we love while also teaching respect and using what you kill. Ted has also done allot for our troops that are over seas touring and helping to raise money for them. He is a solid citizen and very articulate, he does not let political correctness hamper his message and would be a good advocate for gun sports.
  5. I'm against any changes in the season. I live in the country and hunt daily during all seasons for the most part. When I started hunting deer some 25 yrs ago the state land parking areas were filled with hunters campers and tents. Over the last several yrs hunters have dwindled to nothing, the hotels are empty accept for the first 2 days after that there is no one there for the most part. The deer population has gotten younger but I feel that is due to the over issuance of nuisance permits to the large farms in the area. With that said I drive 50 miles a day to work along 390 and see so many large mature deer hit by autos that I don't believe that the population is way down just that there are less hunters moving the deer and they seem to be going nocturnal as soon as they feel any hunting pressure at all.
