How many guys out their enjoy reading up on deer hunting books? I love passing the summer months away by reading anything on whitetails just to scratch the itch until the season comes along so to speak. Some of my better reads were from seasoned adirondack guys that just have the coolest stories on how they killed particular mature bucks in the mountains. Two of my favorite books on strategy and becoming a better woodsman are bowhunting forests and deep woods by Greg Miller and mapping trophy whitetails by Brad Herndon.

I was taught by my father to do what ants does minus the soap. We just use the hottest water our faucet gives us and that cleans them right out (both our muskets). Run dry patches through till barrel is dry then an oil patch and one more dry patch.

I have seen bullet tests with the TNT vs. hornady's and those TNT's did some real damage. Good shootin'! -
I give props to you guys that carry your sticks in with ya when you hunt. I want to be able to climb my tree as quickly and sent free as possible.

Buy the good screw in steps or rapid rails. I purchased a few ladder type steps that came in 4--4ft sections that get slid into the ends of one another for a 16ft ladder but it's neither stealthy nor convenient, and really not high enough for my liking. They work good if your going to put a stand in a tree and don't plan on moving, but the first time you want to move a few trees over or to another spot during the season, you'll realize how much of a burden it is. I have two sets if rapid rails and I love them!

As someone who is working towards a career in law enforcement I am disappointed in the amount of resentment towards police officers, especially Biz-O-Worlds comments, that's just too much man. I know there's some real dink cops out their but there is some great ones too. Walk a day in their shoes and I think you may feel different.

I seen the first munchkin of the year sneaking along the edge of a sheep pasture this morning with momma. Couldn't have been more than a day or two old. Anyone else seeing little ones yet?
