7mm-08

Recommended Posts

Been using the 7-08 for several years now and I love this round. Perfect for deer. But I think I might resurrect the old Remmy 700, 30-06 this year. Its been benched for a while and I just want to give it some play time again.

Same reason I'm thinking about using my CZ 550 9.3...Last thing I shot with it was a New Brunswick moose in 2004...

Rifles have FEELINGS too, you know.....

Bump.............I'm out of Barnes 120gr TTSX bullets but found another 100 of the Nosler 120gr BT's.  I think I'll give them some love this year.

Any new members here have a pet 7mm-08 they'd like to showcase?

Tell a story and hang a pic, please!

The other night I loaded up 5 Lapua .308 cases (necked down for the 7mm-08 rifle) with the above mentioned 120gr NBT bullets.  I used my 44.0 grain load of RL15.  Since it has been a couple years, I figured I'd shoot a quick 3 shot group and brought the gun with me today.

I didn't shoot the other two loaded cases, didn't need too. :)

I think 44.0 is going to be the medicine.......................

SWEEEEEEEET, Larry... I wouldn't have shot the other two either..

44.0 of RL-15 is my load for the 120 Tsx also...Maybe when I shoot up my TSX's I'll do a box of 120 NBT's just for s**ts and giggles...I killed a lot of critters over the years with my .280 and 140 NBT's...

My father wouldn't trade his Remington 700 mountain rifle in 7mm-08 for anything. Has always shot Hornady light magnums with 139g interlocks. That bullet is now known as Hornady American Whitetail. Same bullet, different name. Has had great luck with them over the last 12 or so years.

Those Lapua 308 brass cases, are they the Palma small rifle pirimer ones?  I get phenomenal results with them in .308.
