So it didn’t come out near as soft as it did in the past but since it will be a wall hanging I am ok with that. For some reason the eggs didn’t soak in well enough(maybe I didn’t scrape it enough before freezing-maybe freezing negatively effects the process?). When I stretched it to scrape and soften it also seemed too damp in spots.
Pics to come after I try to color it through smoke(maybe this weekend).

Maybe it didn't have long enough to dry and get like cardboard before making it soft

Yup- I clearly didn’t wring it enough in some spots. The main error though was trying to rush. I didn’t give myself enough time to properly soften it. Some of that was subconscious since I half knew I was making a new pair of skivvies out of it so I didn’t need it to be super soft. I’m just hoping it will still take the smoke when I find time to do that part.
