Are High US Gas prices really Biden and the Dems fault ??

Recommended Posts

So, I was watching FOX News this am , a segment on  Gas prices consisting of a debate between  Conservative/Liberal Economics Expert.   The Liberal guy , Ausitn Goolsby, was actually an Econ Advisor under Obama (I think) and has been kicking around FOX for years ; and, for the record,  I disagree with him often, but like and respect him, nevertheless.  Anyway, Goolsby says that domestic oil production is now at an alltime high and that gas prices are high to to WORLD production levels and associated costs arising from the Russia/Ukraine war.   Domestic oil production at an all time high? (I say to myself)- NO WAY!!  Well, I did a  quick search on online and it appears that hes right; so I am now confused by this.  How can it be that domestic oil production is at an all time high and gas prices are still rising and are the highest ever recorded??

Thoughts / opinions here would be great!!

The answer is right in your post,it is a world market. Oil companies sell to the highest bidder, they don't care if the oil was produced here or in Africa. Free market baby!!!

A lot of the fracking gas went overseas because the companies could make more money there. Private companies drilling on public land don't give one hoot about America's energy independence, they care about shareholder profits and not much else.

The only thing about oil production that has changed since gas was selling for $2 a gallon is who is sitting in the White House.

And if oil production is at an all time high, why was Biden begging OPEC to supply us with more oil after he regulated the hell out of US oil production?

That Bloomberg report isn't showing actual current production numbers.  It's talking about predictions for the rest of the year and next year, and it's basing those predictions on the high price of oil driving that production.

This explains it all:

I’ve been in oil and gas for a decade and sometimes forget how the average person may not know what I see everyday.

We, the American people, have enough oil and gas under our feet to supply our demand and also export our products for years to come.

No matter your political opinion, we can all agree the gas prices we see now are upsetting.

What everyone needs to understand is that the high gas prices are not because of some conflict overseas - prices were high well before that. The prices are not high because our American supply simply vanished.

The prices are high because the people who run our country have decided to import oil from another country instead of using our very own American made product.

Why?

Using our own product creates lower prices, puts hard working American people to work with very good paying jobs and makes us as a country energy independent - Not dependent on another country to survive.

We all saw that not long ago.

Not only have the people in power decided to kill American jobs and create high prices, but they’ve also passed legislation to make it harder for an American oil and gas company to produce & transport our very own product.

Why?

Forget for one second who was President when our prices at the pump were low and our economy was booming and realize that that person was simply “For the people”. If you take away your dislike for DJT, you’ll admit that you miss those times and enjoyed them. Your 401K was higher, gas prices were lower and we were booming as a country.

Now after a year of our current admin, you’ll realize that these people are “not for the people”. They are for themselves and their foreign business deals.

The high gas prices should be enough for you to see that.

The supply is still here, the hard-working Americans to produce it are still here.

Having a booming economy is still possible.

So no matter what you’re told by the news, realize that if we had people in power who were for us Americans, it could be as good it was before.

Nothing has changed as far as oil and gas from 2016-2020 to the last year.
It didn’t just dry up.

It’s here, we are here to produce it.

We can go back to lower prices at the pump.

All we need is the people in power to want that.

Lastly, since we all got to witness someone running our country for four years who truly wanted the best “for the people” as we can clearly see the “then & now” comparison as we speak. Remember every media outlet and political person wanted you to hate him, wanted to impeach him and did everything they could do to be against him.

They were against the man who wanted things to be good for US, the American people.
Those same people are not against the current leadership.

Makes you wonder who’s side they’re all on….

Funny we were at war for years  in middle east , oil wells burning all over ..and the narrative was we were there for the oil..  yet prices never rise to levels that that are now when  a war we are not even fighting is happening with countries that produce much less than iraq, and other contries produce...

If you take the block out from behind the wheel of your truck, and it rolls down the hill, you can rightfully claim you're not making it roll down the hill. (but yeah, you did)

When you intentionally do things that you KNOW will cause oil prices to go higher (backed up by your very own statements stating just that), you are to blame.

Highest gas prices ever under 'President Biden".

Second highest gas prices ever, under Vice President Biden.

I'm sorry that's not a coincidence.

Americans can’t afford to buy a used car or even gas because the Left doesn’t want them to drive. They can’t buy homes because the Left wants to destroy the suburbs and force everyone to live in megacities. They have trouble buying meat because the Left wants them to eat soy.

The same is true for the whole exercise in planned economic misery that we’re experiencing.

Take Hoover’s “A chicken in every pot and a car in every garage” and reverse it. That’s the goal. What we’re living through is not an unintentional accident: it’s the American Holodomor.

There are predictions that gas will hit $6 a gallon nationwide by the summer because the Biden administration has worked hard to raise energy prices and create artificial shortages. Biden’s people just got through once again sabotaging oil and gas leases because they want higher energy prices. $6 a gallon is not the result of political inattentiveness, that is the plan.

Inflation isn’t an unintentional accident either. The Left spends like drunken sailors to feed its agenda, but also because spending is an innate good in the Cloward-Piven sense. Devalue money and you wipe out the middle class. Then you can reboot the economy on new terms.

Biden wasted trillions of dollars and is busy blaming “corporate greed” for high prices.

Meanwhile, inflation is doing what it’s meant to do, wiping out savings, and triggering retaliatory interest rate hikes to “cool down” the economy. The middle class ends up poorer and more vulnerable, government dependency rises and social mobility falls. Socialism starts looking better every day. That’s how it worked in the twentieth century and still works today.

this Administration printed trillions of dollars out of thin air that devalues  our currency against other currencies and that makes the price of oil more as our money is  worth less  because the more money the fed prints the less its worth . Then there's the fact that biden is  making it very hard on American Producers to find and produce more oil in this country.

Back then during the Gulf Wars  they didn't print money like this that's why it didn't get to  crazy high  like now .

I need to get something off my chest… I generally refrain from talking politics, and especially making political posts, however I need to say this.
What I’m going to post is real, not somebody that a friend’s, cousin’s, sister’s, neighbor has happening to them…
I own a small trucking company, and this is what the fuel crisis is doing to our country… so this directly affects me, you, our children, our country.
Today I filled up my truck to deliver products that help keep our country fed. When I filled up my truck, it cost me $1,149.50. This is ONE truck, for ONE day of fuel. I own three. So for one day of operation, it’s costing me $3,448.50. (Yes, we use a full tank of fuel every single day, sometimes more than 1 tank per day)
My trucks generally run 5-6 days a week, so we’ll just estimate on the low side and say 5. That’s $17,242.50. Last week was over $20k for ONE week, that I have to pay out of my pocket to try and keep not only my children fed, but those of my employees, and our country.
Mark my words, we are on a downhill slide to the worst recession our country has ever seen. If you don’t believe me, I implore you to do your research.
Trucking companies are going under left and right. (Literally hundreds weekly) If you’re not aware, what you’re wearing, what you’re eating, what you’re living in, what you’re driving, what you’re reading this on, was delivered by a truck.
If something drastic doesn’t change in the next few weeks/months, I promise you, you’ll see empty shelves everywhere you look. You’ll see chaos as people fight for the basic necessities of everyday life. Food, medicine, etc...
If something doesn’t change, I pray that all of you have the ability, knowledge, and skills to fend for yourselves. Not only against those who would do you or your family harm, but to be able to find sustainable food and water.
This is a scary time. Not only for small business owners, but every single American.
So please, please do your research when we vote for those we place in power. This isn’t just on the federal level, but on the state levels as well. We have got to start making informed decision based on fact. Not because the media says we should like/dislike somebody.
Truck drivers are out here going for broke, holding onto something we know this country needs.
So if you know a truck driver, please tell them to hold on as long as they can. Our country won’t survive without them…

The middle class ends up poorer and more vulnerable, government dependency rises and social mobility falls. Socialism starts looking better every day. That’s how it worked in the twentieth century and still works today.

My prediction, $6 here by Labor Day .
The DEF shortage could be interesting , trucks, trains , farm equipment all need it to run .
Oil is at $120 a barrel and forecast is for it to possibly get to $160. At $150 it is also thought we will be in full recession. Oil goes up everything goes up. The economy is a mess and then some. This would cause large layoffs and business closings. Not good. I know your prepared but it has the potential to be difficult for so many

Not sure if some meat in the freezer and a couple cases of it canned ,along with a decent working panty will be enough . We are “ going shopping “ today to fill in some gaps . I advise everyone ,if there’s something you really need on a regular basis be it ammo,  baby formula, RX or OTC drugs keep a good supply on hand . I take a low dose aspirin a day, you can buy 30 for like $3 at the store , I just ordered 1000 for $10 online , saves money and I’m good for three years no matter what happens. Like China who makes 90% of our RX and otc drugs, decides not to ship to us .

Blame my parents , they had a garden about 150x70 ( extra lot next to the house ) it’s also where I burned the trash and dumped the waist oil along the fence .

Mom canned and froze a ton of fruits and vegetables, we had a large chest freezer and a “ fruit cellar “ , Dad occasionally got a deer for the freezer ,  but he caught and we ate fish too . During the odd/even days of gas rationing, he had a 55 gallon drum of gas in the back yard . My mom made my sisters clothes, darned socks, patched the holes in my jeans , which in the summer became my shorts . Dad worked on our cars ( I got to hold the light, sometimes the timing light !), built the addition on our home, people  had skills and didn’t waste $ back then . When they built their house , we didn’t have a paved driveway, as that was a luxury .

back to gas lol

When you more than double the available US currency in the system and call it "Stimulus" what do you expect?  And then give it away to various liberal causes and then use more to buy votes???  Rather than concentrate in only those areas actually in need of help due to pandemic???

At the time I could find no good reason I should have gotten any checks at my income and employment level other than stupidity and reckless handling of the economy.   My brother who's high up in United Way told me those checks cause a massive surge in overdose deaths.  Many of which were getting treatment during pandemic but the allure of an influx of easy cash got the better of them to enable their next fix.

But the electric cars will save us, right?   That they can't produce due to the semiconductor shortage and are ridiculously expensive for their size.  And we can exchange our dependence on lithium rich nations.  So, cancel that pipeline that would have supplied a cheap and regular supply.

The US dollar hasn't been on a gold standard since Nixon.  A US dollar is purely faith based and buy $1 worth of US goods or labor and is backed by US government.  Crypto currency is also faith based but not back by any government.  I think the rest of the world caught on when the buying power of the dollar was diminished, and we wanted oil.

Nomad I'm pretty much with you as a product of my parents.  Both of whom had lived through the depression.

there was a training/conference about electric buses in the area recently. Due to the new legis of having zero emission buses for schools.  They each need their own charging bank so a district with 70 buses will basically be sub power station.  lol

and the best part was they brought out some electric buses to demonstrate them.  They all had to be towed back cause they ran out of juice.  -
