Four Season Whitetail's
I have a couple awesome pics of some deer on a shale wall i thought only a mountain goat could go. We were on the bottom doing a couple pushes on letchworth and 4 deer jumped in the river, Swam over to the east side and tried to make this climb. They all ended up tumbling down and falling in the river and swam down stream untill they could get out. I will post the pics from my phone if someone can blow them up and post for all to see....... I promise you that you will not believe where these deer went! Edited December 23, 2012 by Four Season Whitetails

Red
Were you guys doing some pushes on thanksgiving? I was hunting in the park by myself on thanksgiving and seen a few guys looking over one of the cliffs as if a deer had jumped off the cliff. Or I couldn't tell if some one had just climbed back up from the bottom it was around 11 am thanksgivin morning
Four Season Whitetail's
Ok...Here they are! I really hope you guys can do it. Yes there are 4 deer on that wall in the pic's about 3/4 of the way to the top of that shale wall. Then after the pics were taken they tried to go higher and they all feel off and tumbled into the river. I never felt so bad for an animal....They never cease to amaze me at what i see them do on that park!!!!!!!

Four Season Whitetail's
Four season, in the picture with the branch the deer are where ? In that pic blow yur pic up to 200% and look right below the bigger branch that has the crotch on the end of it and maybe an inch( on your screen) back from the crotch and just under the banch, About maybe 100ft up from the water. So i guess...Lower left of pic. This pic was before they made it to 3/4 of the way up in the other pic! If anyone knows the park...That wall is across from St Helena pic from west side over to east!! Unreal what they can do. One came down with all 4 legs splayed out sliding on its belly untill it went off the cliff and landed in the river upside down...Went all the way under water... Came back up and out on the bank and started to go back up again...Untill it say the others in the water and she jumped back in with them. It looks a long ways away but really i am on the west side bank and they are just across on the east. Dang cell phones...
Four Season Whitetail's
i cant see the deer for the life of me... could you put a red circle around em in paint or something? Joe thats what i was wishing someone on here that is not puter stupid like me could do. They are hard for me to see and i was there..lol. They did split up a bit in the pic with the branch but if you zoom in on that one spot you can see the form of the deer against the shale. Red
That's where I thought I seen you guys on thanksgiving just a little past st helena. Going toward the castile entrance. I know exactly what your talking about. A couple years ago we were doing a drive up top and a nice buck ran right across the road and jumped over the cliff. Another time doing a deer drive in the rive bottom at st helena a few deer crossed the river and tried to go up the steep wall. It really is amazing what these deer do
Four Season Whitetail's
why didnt you shoot 1? didnt u wanna go get it? 300ft of rope to get myself down there! Only 120in plus bucks come out of those he!! holes and after what those 4 deer did to survive they deserve to live...And they prob did because that was taken the last sunday of late muzzle.. It really is amazing what these deer do That is a nice place and one of the better spots to get over to the islands over on the east side. Another place they do some unreal stunts is down on the hogsback towards the dam overlook. I swear they have some kind of goat bred into those deer. They run those banks sideways and almost never miss a step. I have seen them come down with their front feet in front of them and sitting on their a$$ as they were comin down. This is the first time i have seen one fall but they were in a place no goat should even be!
shawnhu
Might be better off sending those pics in highest resolution to someone to take a look. Send me a PM if you want me to take a look.
Red
They really do seem to have some kind of goat breed in the its really fascinatint seeing what they can do. I've. Always wanted to take a raft or something down into st helena to try the islands. I've never really hunted hogsback before. I've only walked threw there once

We also tried it Sat with no luck. River being low they can blitz across to the east side on each end. We had better luck going down the west side but hunting the east. 2 plus miles down from river road on east or 300 ft straight down on west, Then cross the river. Most times its easier to just cut them in half to get them back off east, Across river and up west bank. They carry much lighter in halves! Four Season Whitetail's
Shawn zoomed in on this one the best he could. If you look real close you can see the outline of the bodies. They went to the river because they were stuck in the middle. To bad they didnt know they were safe and were gunna be givin a pass anyways. lol

Yes we went down from the Gardeau overlook, walked around the flat area there then back up the hill south of the overlook. Then we tried a couple other spots on the West side but not by the river. How do you get across the river, isn't it deep in the middle ?
