ants
I think that hunting detergent stuff is B.S. IMHO. Its meant to kill human scent, not oily stuff or fuel. I just use any brand "clean and free" detergent for hunting clothes. It's made for people with allergies or sensitive skin. No perfumes, dyes..etc and its crazy cheap compared to the detergents marketed to hunters. Every detergent co. makes it. Works great. Good luck
joe12
i think the specialty hunting no-scent detergent is just that - regular detergent but without the scents and UV color enhancers. They just charge a premium because it is perceived as a magical scent killer.
growalot
I agree..and all under clothes are washed in our cheap no scent detergent...but I don't want the brighteners in the outer layers...so one bottle lasts me 2 yrs...
josephmrtn
i use the stuff... (Hunters Specialities) but i always just go to walmart after season and buy it when its like 5 buck for a big can... i have no idea if it helps or not but its cheap so i do it

Paula
You guys wash your hunting clothes...? Mine smell like every deer I've killed in close to 10yrs and still stained with their blood, lol I'll get new hunting clothes before I wash these. I am afraid to wash mine, might fall apart. I put mine outside 2 months before just to freshen them up. My husband buys me that laundry soap and i just use it to wash his stuff and the dogs blankets yr round. lol Edited December 28, 2012 by paula
arrow nocker
all free and clear = scent free or baking soda pluss borax 20 mule team. I don't see the reason to pay so much for stuff that "might"work when these things are proven to.Every day., Edited December 28, 2012 by arrow nocker
WNYBuckHunter
Dead Down Wind works great for me. Cleans just like any other regular detergent, no smell and it has the UV stuff. Been using it for years.
MountainHunter
I agree on the All Free and Clear. I have used it for years. The Best "hunting specific" detergent I have ever come across is Atsko Sport wash. If I see it on sale I pick it up. No scent, no UV brighteners and it is great at bringing the loft back to down or synthetic down garments, it really thoroughly cleans.
