Found a giant puffball yesterday. Unfortunately it was bad when I cut into it.7bb8990996077173261c5a38aead0f09.jpg&key=2616b5d78de91a57047c843837da47ec3c75888e2d4141d0ffe78e7132cb480021c4dbb6727faebdb7bb4fabfa63a2a5.jpg&key=c436bcd6e28fa3c5afe0f150abe599d57d955fb652721601aaf36b017ce7a7b5

People eat those things? I thought you are just supposed to kick them as hard as you can and then watch the dust fly all over

I agree that giant puffballs are among the most tasteless & textureless thing and I don't normally bother with them. However, I did see an interesting lasagna recipe utilizing puffballs in place of noodles.
Once in a while I will snag a few gem-studded puffballs if I see them. They're only the size of golf balls, but I feel like they have a better taste.

Setting up stands yesterday turned into a great afternoon of chanterelle hunting, also found some more black truffles. I found a ton of yellow chantrelles, and I found these things that look like orange chanterelles. Anyone know what these are and if they are edible? There was a sea of them. That's the last 2 pics. Chanterelles are delicious, going to cook up a bunch more tonight.7af1b5d98f71c2dadfc96d99995c3953.jpgcaa16c42112b4cb54d1b860ec82ec952.jpgfd18ddfc61f6a33788359051468e081a.jpg1018eb28f50ce3575baa923cc64fe4c8.jpg

So my girlfriend wanted to make a traditional Slovak meal for me (she is from there). It's basically saerkraut, mushrooms, and meat soup. I tell her I have a bunch of dried mushrooms and show her a jar of oyster and dryads saddle mushrooms for her to use. I come home and start eating the soup and I start seeing morels. She dumped most of my jar of morels in
