Your right I didn't know that. :-[

Does this apply to all deer tags ie regular season, DMP from other zones?

You can use your leftover bow or reg season tags from sept 27 till dusk of sept 30 in the NZ early bow, as well as your leftover bear tag. if the bow tag is antlerless only, then only good for a doe, your reg season tag is good for buck or doe.

Also, you can use the left over doe tag but the deer must be killed in the zone the doe tag

was issued for, there's only a few areas of NZ that have them, unfortunately not mine I ended up throwing 2 doe tags in the trash last year. :-[

No Capt.. you can not use DMP's only the regular season and bow/ml tags may be used but it is valid for either sex during the four day early archery season. As far as I know you can not use unused doe tags the following year.

See page 26 of the sylabus, it expalins it there. It can be veiwed online here..

you are correct doewhacker, never really looked at that one being in unit 5J, I just automatically throw the un-used doe tags out after not using them by the end of last season.

however if you have both bow & ml privilege, you have to follow the tag, antlerless only is still antlerless only in early season.

hunted behind the inlaws last night on state land, hung a stand and 5 minutes later no lie had 10 deer in 15 yards all around the stand... good night last night, i was going to capitalize on a mature doe but she was spooked on the way in.  :)
