Lawdwaz
Well, at least the band is playing! Tomorrow is the last day of the 2013 Spring Gobbler Season. I'm planning on going out. After last weeks debacle I'll try and redeem myself and regain some much needed confidence! I won't hit it too hard, just a few hours. My father in law is staying with us tonight so at least I'll miss the early morning breakfast "CF" when he looks for all the ingredients for his oatmeal, raisin toast & coffee meal! Luck to all that head out! PS......Don't forget your bug spray & full face head net.

Witty
Wish it wasn't going to be 90+ but I'm calling into work to hunt till noon. I too need redemption from having a bird at 10 yards and not being able to get a shot. Good luck everyone!

Lawdwaz
Sweep the floors, empty the trash and dim the lights. The show is over for another year...... I heard a hen early. Walked probably 4-4.5 miles in swampy bug infested woods. I'm sure it was the hottest day I EVER spent in the woods. Normally I FIND weight while hunting, today I lost it. <grin> Messed with a gobbler around 8:30am for about an hour. I thought he was coming but he never gobbled again after 12-15 good responding gobbles in a 10 minute time period. I stuck with it for 45 minutes and then said thanks and beat it.............................
landtracdeerhunter
I feel like I got ........................... by the fat lady. This heat really knocked a lot out of me the last 2. The humidity, cut it with a knife, 90 degrees. The bugs are just multiplying like crazy with all standing water from mid week rains. Dang thermocell ran out a 9. Witnessed a gobbler, in a clearing with his butt to me, after twelve. Kinda ironic, a bitter sweet ending. You don't know how bad, I restrained................................. I can't wait till next May. Longbeard Madness all over again, LOL. Edited May 31, 2013 by landtracdeerhunter
ants
I didn't even go out. I felt a little guilty, and wanted to try and fill tag #2, but when I broke out in a sweat at 7:00 this morning, walking to the mail box for the paper, I felt a little better. TeeBugg
Tried to get out but had some family issues. Still good to at least fill one tag! Broke a 3 year drought!

whaler
Next season will be one for the books, trust me. Gobblers running at yelps, hens running away, the perfect dilemma.
