2013 Code Black

I have a few 2012 Code Blacks and toying around with my first 2013 Code Black after finally getting a down moment in the past week or so.

 

I won't post pics, etc. until I hang it for a while. But, the 2013 comes with SMS functions. I can text commands to the cam in the field to change the email or phone numbers that receive the images. Also tested the function that asks the cam to snap a pic and send it to me. Pretty neat. I see that as a good feature if I don't get a pic for a while and want to see if cam is still powering. Haven't messed with the location request yet, but I will be able to request the location of the cam with a similar code.

 

I have heard some people say the SMS function eats up batteries more, but the official word is that if it is not used, it doesn't. I'll tinker around with it and report back as needed on it.

Retail is in the mid $300, but many places sell in the 2's.
