Catskill Hunter
I usually end my hunting at camp by Thanksgiving, Now that I have some foodplots in I want to hunt muzzleloader this year. I have the non resident sportsmans licence. If I read it correct, if I shoot a buck or doe during the bow season I can not shoot one for the muzzloader ? TeeBugg
If you have a bow/muzzleloader tag you can. I have a bow/mz either sex, and a bow/mz antlerless.

So I can shoot another doe during muzzleloader if i shoot one with the bow however once i fill the bow/muzzleloader tag with a buck during the bow season I cant shoot a buck during muzzleloader ? burmjohn
Pretty sure when you get your muzzleloader tag you get another antler-less tag that is usable during bow OR muzzleloader. But you can't get another buck? The DEC site isn't clear, don't have my tags on me to check.
TeeBugg
Correct. If you fill your either or tag with a buck, latr muzzleloader you can take a doe if you still have a tag.

Catskill Hunter
So basically you can shoot a total of two does OR one buck and one doe during the bow / muzzleloader seasons combined ?
shawnhu
As a resident, if you purchase a super sportsman, you get 3 tags. If you purchase separately or after the fact, I don't believe you receive 3, only 2. TeeBugg
based on youe actual question many of the responses I read here are wrong. A sportsman licence does not give you the ability to hunt with a BOW or a Muzzleloader. Did you purchase a sportsman or a SUPER sportsman. It make a huge difference in how the question is answered. I assumed he had super sportsman. Just for the fact he was talkint about bow and muzzleloader
Catskill Hunter
yes it is a super sportsman. Culvercreek hunt club
I don't take anything for granted any more. I ran into one guy that bought a sportsman and his bow license. and becasue the tag said BOW/ML he figured they made a mistake and becasue the tag said it he could hunt with his ML. I do know guys that don't even own a ML though and won't hunt the late season but are really die hard bow hunters and they buy both so they can get the tag for each and use it early season.
