I live 5 minutes away from there  and thats the first I've heard of that.Several years ago the state brought in "Snipers" in a controlled hunt to thin the herd and that caused a small controversy. The deer herd in western suffolk/eastern nassau is growing,Its going to get interesting in the comeing years to see how they deal with this situation.

That's for sure!

Well they have migrated from that area to CSH and down the greenbelt trail into the farm/woods area by Pulaski and Oakwood road, Pulaski and Lake in greenlawn.  To say they are starting to multiply would be an understatement...  They are in the farms on Jericho tpke by Warner road and they are in West Hills Park.  Not to mention all the young bucks that leave Eatons Neck every year into Northport and Fort Salonga.  Muttontown persevere, Bethpage state park, Blydenbergh.  I don't think anything will  be done until a few fatalities become reality unfortunately...  I though Lyme would scare people but apparently not...

yea I even heard reports of deer not being sighted at the old cemetery over by eatons neck.  Another herd is living behind the stop n shop in northport! That's practically east northport!  I don't understand why bow hunters aren't allowed to take some of them out until people start dying in car accidents!? Its bull sh**  All the pita tree huggers don't understand that the majority of these animals move at night and when some soccer mom hits one and dies in a car accident killing her children along with it I am sure your right they will THEN allow some responsible hunters to begin taking deer.  I am not saying that seeing deer in these areas are a bad thing.  However when there is no natural predator to monitor the population they will grow out of control like any animal and become a pest.  Or they will do what they did upstate and just start releasing coyote's everywhere!  SWEEEET!!!!!

Hey Everyone! This is Louis Backlas/ Cross Over the River Outdoors. I just posted a new video to my YouTube channel that I though ya'll might get a kick out of! Have you ever used a decoy to hunt whitetails? If you haven't before you might want to start! I woke up one morning and look out my front window only  to find that my 3D deer target was in pieces all over the front lawn! A fired up buck decided to take his frustrations out on the target!  this took place sometime in November during the peek of the rut. Hope ya'll get a kick out of it!

      Hey All,
New to the forum, already missing the deer season and have curiosity to quell. This was a great non-typical I was chasing all season in a bow-only area of Ithaca. Anyone know or hear of a non-typical of this caliber being killed? I'll be out scouting for him aggressively soon enough. Thanks!
      Nick

Hello folks. I'm a novice hunter from almost Central NY. I live amongst the cow fields about 20 minutes south of the ADK park. I'm here hoping that I can learn from those who know more than I do. That's probably most of you. LOL. This is my second season and so far I still have all of my tags. I have a rifle but I'm not comfortable shooting it in the area I hunt due to people being near. I'm hoping to fill at least one of my tags before Dec 19.
