He shot it in Lakeland. Anthony Andrews, 14, is all smiles as he poses with an 8-point buck he shot last week in Lakeland. It was his first deer. Anthony, a freshman at West Genesee High School, was hunting at the time with his father, John Andrews. The boy was sitting alone in a ground blind at the time near a field. The deer came across his sights at about 40 to 50 yards away. His father was texting him, telling him it was getting late and time to go home. Evidently not. The buck weighed about 175 pounds. The father said, "I could hardly drag it out of the woods with my son's help. "What a way to start out your hunting career," the father concluded.
