I knew right away it was fake by the type of deer, like everyone else. Reminds me of the time a guy on a fishing forum posted a trail cam pic of mt lion eating a deer that was taken in Dutchess County. I found the same pic on a Texas hunting forum 3-4 years ago.

 

Why people send around fake pics, just boggles my mind.

Please not by the rack...We have spikes around here that look like that..,.in fact I'm sure there were pic. or two of guys that either shot or got on trail cams...also not the tail...because months ago I posted about a short tailed deer on our place with pics.....so other than those two things I honestly would like to know...

The tail was the dead give away, (and the landscape). Not that its short but that its a tail from a black tail deer.

I've seen cougars in WNY. The Yellow Jaguar hotel/bar down the street has them routinely on Saturday nights. 

 

On a side note I haven't seen the mountain lion pic in the back of the pick up this year reported to have been shot here, and there and here and there....

So I went through all the different pics...see it now...but the tail is ..in my opinion the only tell from the angles shown...the soil and back ground is a give away...not just the green...I have bamboo just as green and leafed out in 7in. of snow as in that pic...thanks for the reply

I saw a pic of a NY mountain lion, I know for a positive fact because it was taken by my sister's friend's boyfriend's uncle's daughter's nephew and he is very honest … I think!

I have seen a mountain lion in ny. pretty much everyone in the area saw it. there also was an article in the local paper about it. that was about 10 years ago. I actually saw it twice, in the same spot, more or less.
