Governor Announces Support for Crossbows in NY

A hunting organization wanting to thank AC. Sheesh. I don't care if he offered support. Big picture thinking trumps a bone thrown to the dogs in this situation.

Just a fine example of special interest trying to weasel through the legal system and politics to get what they want at any cost.

I'm on the fence on xbow use, but I REALLY dislike this organization now that they ask for people to thank AC.

i decided to pass an that one.

Ya ...I tried but am in a mood ...lol

I do not blame any organization or group...for he is a bottom dealing... blood sucking...snake in the grass...with crazy eyes BTW...IMO...that has kept little things in his pocket to pull out at just the right time...all part of long term planning...that is what makes him such a political danger...IMO

the sportsman/hunting groups and organizations who suck onto any politician, especially ones who backed the Safe Act, are no better than the politicians themselves............this pretty much sums up how divided we are becoming.

We weren't talking about the safe act...two totally different things....I wouldn't know if the "group" your talking about supported the safe act ....so I won't speculate...but just because they kissed his back side on one issue doesn't mean he wouldn't be in their cross hairs on another...I have seen a few agree with some things he's done ..like casinos ....so where does that place those ppl in your eyes

I wasn't saying any group supported the Safe Act.....I was saying the group is sucking up to a politician who did. Politics is very rarely about doing the right thing, it's all about you do for me and I'll do for you.

Yes it most certainly is... so I stick to my guns in saying I don't blame any particular group for kissing his back side...for as far as I know they are holding the PROVERBIAL knife for his back in one hand while shaking his hand...I blame him...... for trying to be Santa..doling out little gifts holding a pitch fork and hiding his horns under his cap

Honestly I think it is a good thing. I'll eventually will buy one and hunt with it. The huge buck I kill will go on my wall just like the others I shoot with the gun and bow.

Friends will congratulate and pat me on the back and life will go on. Bring it on………..killing a deer with a bow is really cool, killing a deer with a gun is cool and killing a deer with a crossbow will be right in the middle!!!

You guys have known my stance on this...but with the increase in "sharpshooters" being hired to go into reduce herds and watching the sentiments of anti's agreeing with that over hunters...I say go for it...

For as I said.... and will say here again...listen carefully to every thing being said....this is something you should be concerned about...not 4 in 9....

The only thing I would thank that ass wipe Cuomo for is if he repealed the SAFE act, publicly apologized to the entire state and admitted that his passage of that act was a knee jerk reaction and a mistake, and announced his resignation. Then I would thank him for resigning on his way out the door.

BTW, I am a NYCC member and I am not exactly thrilled with this release.

I could honestly care less about crossbows.  Wouldn't matter to me if they were made legal, or if they remained illegal.   What I DO know is that I won't be thanking Cuomo, or any politician for that matter for anything pertaining to the crossbow issue.  This will just give them extra incentive to tell everyone that guns are not needed for hunting anymore either.  Hell, they are giving us crossbows now, along with regular bows, so for what reasons do hunters really need guns or a reason to buy ammo?  No freaking way am I thanking any of these bastards for anything.  This crossbow organization who wants us to send thanks should be condemned for even suggesting it in my opinion.  They are obviously in Cuomo's pocket somehow.

Not being a crowwbow guy, I am not as up on this as some of you may be....but, if I recollect correctly, it was our legislators that let the crossbow opportunity get away.  They failed to act...and now the King wants to give the cross bow back.  Hmmm....collusion, maybe?...To make the guvna look good!

No, most of our reps that actually got to vote on the issue passed it, and Cuomo supported their inclusion last year IIRC. Theres ONE person standing in their way, Sweeny. He did not allow the final vote on them to hit the floor before the legislative session for the year closed out.

There could be a positive with the A Hole pushing this. He already has many many gun owners up in arms (pun intended) because of the safe act. Let's look at die hard bow hunters that really might not have an axe to grind with the safe act unless they CC. Hopefully the crossbow passing and inclusion will just piss off a whole other group of New Yorkers and gear them the vote the guy out.
