dirt_a_KISS
Found this kinda of interesting on the local news website. Seems like an OK idea depending on how successful it is. http://www.wgrz.com/story/news/local/new-york/2014/02/12/new-york-lifetime-hunting-license-plate/5430013/
mlammerhirt
They are free if you buy a lifetime license now....and probably an arm and a leg if you are already a lifetime license holder.

RangerClay
Congratulations sportsmen, Emperor Andy has a new way to track gun owners! Edited February 13, 2014 by RangerClay
RangerClay
And from what I'm told, you will no longer get a lifetime licence card. It will be printed on the bottom of your drivers licence. Be prepared to be asked by every LEO who pulls you over, if you have a gun. Lawdwaz
Once again; like a sack of balls under my bumper hitch or camo graphics on my truck: IT AIN'T HAPPENING. How about some of those gay ass stickers of big bucks? Maybe if I was 17 again................(then I'd probably have the saggy sack too hanging from my hitch)

BKhunter
I think if your young it makes sense since I've been spending around $90 every year for my license. I plan on hunting for a long long time so this is actually a huge savings. But if what Vince1 said is true this seems kind of stupid. Why wouldn't they do one big package? Seems stupid that they will put it on your drivers licesnse since you will still need carcas tags, back tags so i don't see why not having the one little paper license is a big deal. I do think it is a way for the state to see who might have a firearm when they are pulled over or asked for ID for any other reason.

Redneckoflatham
I like the idea of it being on my driver liscense but not on my plates there is no need to advertise for the sake of the gov filling his pockets hes done enugh damage with his stupid safe act

The license is valid until you croak, no matter where you live. Your license plate? Beats me..........................
rjmjr911
I didn't know if you left Ny if your license would be void. My pistol permit would be void moving out of this lovely state. I would by a lifetime license but it has to be discounted greatly Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
Trial153
I can't picture myself moving to a state with worse hunting then NY ...so a lifetime lic won't have much value after the move.
CuseHunter
Do anyone know how this affects it if you move out of state... Since it's on a license then that seems to screw it up for you if you move. Cuz I sure as hell want to get out of this dictatorship ASAP

boo711
From what I have been told and heard from people that have moved you will still get your lifetime license. It will be mailed to your new address I believe

Zhe Wiz
Be prepared to be asked by every LEO who pulls you over, if you have a gun. Most LEOs I know are on our side. If he does ask that question, chances are he just wants to know what kind of cool gun you might have. :-) I'll be getting the hunting plate on my next car - sure beats that nasty gold and blue alternative!!! And I'm STILL not voting for Cuomo... Zhe Wiz
Tony7781
If you move out of state the lifetime is still valid until you take that 6 foot dirt nap. Also, you need to purchase a separate bow lifetime. The sportsman is &65 and the bow is $235 I think. That will basically give you the super sportsman. You will still need to pay the $10 each year for DMP
