moog5050
I was reading some threads and I became curious as to how some of you arrived at your forum name. I was trying to figure out what sogaard stands for, as an example. Mine was bestowed on me when I played football in college. My freshman year, the starting middle linebacker called me a big moog. It doesn't mean anything, but stuck and my college buddies still call me moog. 5050 was my college number 50. No idea why I didn't leave it at moog50. So if you have an odd name, feel free to post the story behind it. Sogaard, please? BTW - my subname is to make others jealous of my vehicle, especially Phade and WNYBH. Pygmy
For those who have heard my story, please forgive the repeat. There are probably lots of fairly recent members who haven't heard it. I picked Pygmy because I am vertically challenged ( I used to be 5'6", but I think I've shrunk in my old age) AND the names Shorty, Midget, and Runt were already taken....

Five Seasons
Belo is my way of spelling a high-school nickname that was so popular that the teaches used it. It's pronounced B-lo, but most forums don't allow symbols. A lot of people probably read it as "bell-o".
moog5050
I did think it was Bello - should have used Beelow. Thats pretty funny pygmy.
genesee_mohican
I like being down by the Genesee River bottom in Letchworth Park and often think of all the Native American History there. I wish I would have went with something shorter.

Deerthug
I originally had my first initial "J" followed by my last name as my forum name. But I decided to change it to more of a "hunter's" nickname. I wanted Deerhunter but it was taken so the only other name I came up with was "Deerthug". Go figure . . .
fasteddie
Many many years ago , there was a movie named "The Hustler" with Paul Neuman as Fast Eddie Felson as a pool hall hustler . One of the guys at work started calling me Fast Eddie and it caught on . Guys I hadn't seen in 20+ years would hollar across the room / parking lot , etc Hey , fast eddie so I took it as a user name . ( I probably should remove the "s" from fast )

Two Track
Childhood nick name that some of my grandparents friends still called me by when I was in high school. Of course I still play with (ahem, I mean) set up trains around Christmas - to go around the tree for the kids. I got 2 boxes for just the scale model buildings - some built by/with my dad when I was little, some just me, few others done a few years ago with my wife.
WNYBuckHunter
Mines not too tough to figure out. I actually just wanted WNYhunter, but it was taken, so I threw the Buck in there.
Elmo
Pledging nickname given to me when I was a pledge for a fraternity in college. I bought the Tickle Me Elmo doll for my nieces as a Christmas gift and the bros saw it. Since it's a real name, it stuck ever since. The title/subname is from Star Wars. I still consider myself a hunter in training. A Padawan is a title given to a Jedi in their last stage of training before granted a Knight by a Jedi Master. I just thought it was funny and cool. Strangely, I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan. I don't know what goal I'll set for myself before I change the title to Jedi Knight. Maybe after my first bow kill but then again, I did let a few walk away this last bow season.

Minnesota Fats was based on a real person..Was Fast Eddie ?
noodle one
Some people on here think I got my name from all the fishing I do for steelhead and using a noodle rod. Sorry that is not how I got the name. I got it from playing noodle golf balls for many years when they came out. and also because I would wear a noodles cap all the time. To this day people call me noodle or bottom of the cup. I didn't think bottom of the cup was a good name for a hunting forum.
NFA-ADK
NFA- No Fooling Around (Polite version for the internet.) From our first year in Moose River and the poor lost soul David Boomhower who was found deceased. 1991 Because death is just around the corner for those ill prepared in the Dacks. NFA My nickname was always Getsome from the movie Full Metal Jacket as I was a fan. If you are going to be a bear, be a grizzly! My outlook on things, never do anything half as. NFA-GETSOME seemed a little over the top at the time so being a ADK enthusiast I just used NFA-ADK instead.

JALA RUT
JALA Rut..........My initials followed by my wife's initials and then my favorite time to be in the deer woods...although my wife states that I'm trying to indicate something else with our names ... You get the idea. I assured her that I'm not as I belong on a turkey hunting forum with the name JALA Strut, but she still thinks otherwise...
