That was my question but I am betting they were delivered from Baldor-restaurant supplier that is doing residential deliveries now as well.
I have yet to find the edible fiddlehead while foraging.

You need to search near creek beds I find them all near the creek at my camp.

Gotta be careful as the wrong ones are dangerous to eat. About a month out on them around here I just got word.

Spring is coming early this year I would be you will start seeing them in about 2 weeks.

Yes Chef... I found several patches of them the other day and had time to harvest a few after work today.  My son in law has tons of them in the southern tier but he said they are just popping up.  I was surprised to see them this big already myself.

Forgot to post last night...  The only thing I would do differently is add more leeks.  I saved the leaves too in a ziplock bag and tossed them in the freezer.  I read somewhere that you can make pesto from them.  Anyone ever try that?

Maybe this is a good place to start. I have made ramp butter before which makes for a yummy bagel topper and great to Cooke eggs in

Not dinner but snack. Cut up some venison steaks yesterday and marinated in Cabelas brand hot n sweet mix cutting the cure to about 20% ( pure salt ), tossed in generous dashes of crushed red pepper flakes , brown sugar , dash or two of soy sauce , teriyaki and worchestshire . Woke up at 4 am and threw it on jerky racks. Into oven at 200 with door ajar. By 8:30 I had jerky goodness complete. 97733e7247729ad146f78d63757721a1.jpg
