An old throwback from my mother’s weekly routine- apricot jelly, French dressing, onion soup mix over chicken thighs and baked for 45

Seared venison steaks with local blue cheese, asparagus with bacon salad and a baked potato. I’m at camp and realized I didn’t have butter in the fridge so I poured bacon grease on the potato

Made my pizzas again today for daughters 15th birthday as she just returned from a choral convention in Ohio.

Mako shark fish cakes, serves over brown rice and quinoa, with asparagus, red onion and balsamic reduction. Was good. Meant to defrost fluke, but grabbed the mako by accident. b3cec208847f32d2e4bc76f641a97418.jpg

Creamy tarragon chicken thighs over basmati rice. Cooked with white wine. So I have to finish the magnum. Cheers. de84aab35a6a10bdbfed25e205ddef75.jpg

A local restaurant serves that and calls it “Pasta Omelette” .  They put a layer of red sauce on the bottom of the dish then the omelette on top.  Delicious!

It’s not bad. I don’t usually expect much from anything on Route 9 up there but my friend lives in wappingers so we eat up there sometimes. I actually think the Osterio place on the hill nearby is really good.
