What's for dinner tonight?

Recommended Posts

Deer tacos! Finally. BIG thank you to @turkeyfeathers for always thinking about Jenn, and I with food ideas like this for us to try.  Great stuff, it was odd to have spices mailed to me, and not mailed out! Haha

Last of last seasons venison. Grilled, of course, in 20 degree weather. Sautés shrooms and Mexican corn.

My crossbow deer-tenderloin, never frozen with a little cow rub, in cast iron.  Breaded cauliflower with General Tso’s wing sauce for dipping the cauliflower in.

The temps are rising so I cut up most of my buck today and put the hind quarters in the garage fridge.  Took longer than I thought it would so we grabbed dinner from Tom Wahls.

Not for dinner but breakfast and lunch in the woods tomorrow. Sausage and cheddar muffins. Can't remember who originally posted this recipe but it has been a staple the last couple years. Bring these and some Halloween candy and good for the dayab8d843ead698c2915b4d10e63d8b262.jpg

1 cup of Bisquick

1 cup shredded cheese

Mix it all together, put in muffin tins and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

That’s a BALL in the top left isn’t it?!?
Buddy shot a good 8 with a good set - I thought of you and then tossed them in the pile!

No, deer for me yet so I had vegetarian chicken fingers and boxed mac and cheese with green beans and tuna. The next read meat I eat is going to be venison, no matter how long it takes!

Yep, this one came with two tasty appetizers. Lots of pepper makes them better than any sea oysters I have sampled. They were not particularly large on this one, but there is two there on top of the plate. I will never leave another set on a gut pile.  No sence letting the vermin get the good stuff.

The heart is in the freezer now.  My wife will pickle that, and any more I end up with, for Valintines day.  The liver will make a couple more meals.  I split it into two bags, and will put them in the freezer on Thursday, so they have some time to loose the rigor mortis.  Livers are too tough for me, from deer more than 6 months old, if I skip that aging step.

That is real good, I like that squash better than pasta

You know I was just texting my dad about this.  I told him it is a great substitute for pasta.
