IronBucks
How important is it to have a camo pattern on your binoculars? I have been testing out a lot of binoculars and I like the Nikon Monarch 3 the best. The camo pattern is pretty hard to come by and the matte black has been on sale. I'm wondering if it is worth the extra effort...
ants
Go with the matt black. On something as small as binoculars the only thing that camo does is make them look cool.

You couldn't give me camo binos............... Camo binos, camo gun, camo clothes, camo undies, camo knife, camo glasses, camo watch, camo lighter, camo ,,,,,,,,,,,
phade
Camo on items like that make it more difficult to find when you drop them in the woods. Black or the matte green.

Lawdwaz
I think Dinsdale has a pair of the Monarch binos and I know another friend does too. I liked them and I have Swarovski glass...........FWIW.
IronBucks
Thanks for the feedback! I did get the matte black for $199 at Dicks...but the Camo style is much more difficult to find at that price.
Mr VJP
You can always spray a little olive drab paint on them to camo them up a bit.

I liked them and I have Swarovski glass...........FWIW. I have both Swarovski 8x30 SLC's and 8x42 Monarchs. I like the Swaro's for bird watching and if I want something light for bow stand if I want to look around. The Nikons have traveled quite a bit and have kept up with higher end glass for daylight normal hunting, the Swarovski's in a similar size have an edge there in the dark ( many places I hunted hours are before and after sunrise/sunset times by up to an hour) I spent a few weeks in May doing a glassing hunt with PH who had Swaro 10x42's........I kept up just fine spotting my own game except at twilight and for detail.....but the 10 power did have an edge naturally. I think the OP did good on the Nikon's and I'd recommend them to anyone wanting decent glass that doesn't break the bank. And the camo thing? Doesn't mean $hit IMO.
