Finally made it back up to the house for another round with the thunder chickens. This time we plan on using the hen decoys to bring them in closer. Hopefully we will put 2 down between us by Sunday morning.

It absolutely is about the time I spend with him. As far as I'm concerned, if I can make it happen that he connects then, well that's just the gravy.

My plan is to let him tag out if possible. I told him that if only one bird comes in each morning they are both his. If two come in together at one time, we will try to take one each.

He's already asking about deerhunting this fall.....I would say he is hooked.

We heard a few early on and talked with them for a while but then they clammed up as it got too windy. Did not see any today and only one shot from the neighboring property. Son wanted to come in at 9 so we did. It was discouraging not seeing anything but the time spent with him was more enjoyable than the hunt itself.

All settled in for another sit with my son. 65 degs and light breeze. Birds are chirping, frogs are croaking ..... I know I forgot something. ..damn I need coffee!!!!!
