My Cabin got broken into twice this year, the loser low lives stole all my small land and farm equipment.

Any suggestions on how to deal with this.  Should i get law enforcement involved or handle it myself?

If you ever experienced this how did you handle it?

So...Your question tells me you have no insurance?? That's a bummer..... I would have been on the phone to the Sheriffs dept as soon as I discovered it...They may be on the case already usually it's a rash of similar break ins in an area ...have a good idea of who and possible end with getting some if not all your stuff back...

Make a report with the local PD. Hopefully they will step up patrols in that area in the future. And if they catch the shirthead, breaking into another place nearby, perhaps they can tie him to your break in and maybe you get some stuff back. If you put out expensive cell cams, what's to say they won't steal those too? Get a regular trail cam and hide it along the driveway, where you can at least get a discription of the dirtbag's vehicle to pass along to the police. Too bad this happened to you. Hope you get your stuff back.

Sorry to hear….As much of a pain in the a$$ it is to haul stuff back and forth, thats exactly what I would do. Don't leave anything there. Leave the curtains wide open so the inbreds can see there is nothing there. I might even leave the door unlocked.

My brother had a break in n called the police, they caught the lowlife with his stuff. Perp got arrested and bro got his stuff back. Unusually good results but you have to report it. IMO may also help you if you do have to defend yourself in the future. Good luck, sorry to hear of your troubles.

there's something to be said for documenting your issues as well, some day you may need to defend yourself and the paper trail will help your cause.

i'd also recommend putting a trail cam or 2 in a conspicuous location to get plates.

I BOUGHT THE SYSTEM ONLINE FOR ABOUT A GRAND TOTAL  AND I SLEEP VERY WELL at night.Hell I even have a camera in side the trailer. Unfortunately camp break ins/  property thefts are a harsh reality.

I cant leave anything out at my camp. Finally about 4 years ago I bought a steel shipping container, put a lock box on it, and everything goes inside. No problems since, except for last winter scrappers stole my propane regulator and snapped off all the exposed copper. Actually today I just finished redoing it, making sure it is all within the joists, covered with ply wood. Luckily the propane company is replacing the regulator.

Make sure everything has identifying numbers, even if you have to engrave them yourself. Report everything and every incident. Usually in time the perps get caught, and the more that is documented, the better chance of getting it back.

Then they all know to wear a mask when breaking in your joint.

Buy a shiny new generator and put it right out in the open. Chain that sucker with the biggest chain u can but make sure they cannot see that from the road. Then put a couple cams on it. U should find them checking on it. Then call police have them go to there house get your ****back
