Odd Rack

Not a whitetail, and not anything too crazy but I think it's cool. This mule deer I shot, had a 4" drop/backwards brow point. Still in velvet. His ear on the side was very worn from this point always rubbing.

Buck I killed a few years ago during archery. Had a deformed rear leg from a car I'd assume, his hoof kept growing and was about 6" long because he couldn't walk on it.

I noticed he had a large lump on his left rear knee, which I think caused the long spike on the right. There was a 1.5 year old the winter before that was injured on the property, we think this is the same deer

I think I've only ever shot one, maybe two that didn't have an odd rack.

i shot a one pointer the one side was busted off below the skin and the other was 5 inches long with a 4 inch base and it was a 2 year old deer

Killed this buck in 2006, in 8C. His bottom front teeth were falling out. His left lung had a big solid mass in it. I cut it open, & it was black / greenish inside. I have no idea what happened to him.

Lung cancer? Or maybe an old single lung hit that had healed? Either way sounds nasty but a nice rack for the wall!

I wondered about lung cancer too. Looked for any sign of an arrow or shot, but didn't see anything. Maybe a car hit him & messed him up, but he survived.

The meat was fine. He's one of my favorite bucks.

5.5 year old bow kill in 7F.  One back leg had a lot of scar tissue we figure the buck at one point had been hit by a car causing the rack.

 

This was an antlered doe from 7M

First buck was just a unique tight rack. 2nd and 3rd were actually shot within 500 yards of each other three years a part.
