Neighbor.. :negative:...Well I was afraid of this...especially when they wouldn't give us last names or Phone #'s ...refused to talk when we saw each other at the drive...then the hunter next door  tried and he said something was wrong...wouldn't say where he worked or give last name....

 Well a few cops were here...and Mr B stopped because they were in front of our land and the hunters...guy said " oh hit a deer and waiting to have cops lets us get it". Really?..... that's my land he says...red faced The guy said OK I'll tell the truth...he has my truck and never paid for it(looks new)...HE HAS QUITE THE RAP SHEET AND HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR STEALING COPPER AND OTHER THINGS OUT OF HOMES AND BUSINESSES...WELL THEY SHOWED MR b HIS PHOTO, GAVE HIM EVERYONE'S FIRST AND LAST NAMES  ECT ECT...(OOPPSS SORRY CAPS)Well no job ...and local Realtor said they will never be able to keep that place(type of loan ??)...(said that last year) so..here's  to hoping

 

I hate being right... :rolleyes:

I mentioned  last year....the new ppl that moved in would not say their last names when I took a pie to them...and wouldn't give me a number to call or have the husband call me to talk about recoveries...then over the year they avoided speaking to us...this season the hunter between us told me They talked and he wouldn't give his last name. He wouldn't say where he worked when the hunter asked in conversation...He said somethings off with him...I had mentioned I was afraid he may be trouble...and not quite "upstanding"...

Well Mr B found out just how true that is today. A few cop cars and a guy looking to get his truck back was down there...They let Mr B know the story on this guy...The guy trying to get his truck back first lied to Mr B about why they were down in front of our land...until Mr b told him the land he was pointing to was ours...Then they opened up about this guy.

 

Man this hill attracts these types like the wind blows in mylar balloons from across the county! :rolleyes:

Those areas seem like easy targets to rif-raff. Being in the country I think they feel home onwers might not pay as much attention or even feel safer. Or maybe they think getting away would be easier as longer times for LEO to get there.

Have to keep a sharp eye out in the country these days as much as living in a city.

 

At least you got the truth now.

Having bad neighbors is a night mare. The couple across the street got divorced and she kept the house. Only she couldn't afford it on her own so she moved to an apartment and rented the house to her inbred toothless cousins from Hooterville.

A full year on police cars in and out, fights in the driveway at all hours, property escorts, loud music and parties, drunks ,junk all over the uncut lawn..you name it. 

The bank finally took the place and booted them. contractors have been putting the place back together since early summer. According to the neighbor who lives right next door, the inside of the place was trashed. This was a beautiful home that was less than ten years old when cousin opossum and the crew moved in...

 

Good luck grow…I know how it feels.

There was a time when rural people were mostly hard working farmers who's honesty was not to be questioned. Many deals and agreements were established with only a handshake and nobody worried about it because a man's word was his bond. Well times have changed and not necessarily for the better. Many of the rural residents are uprooted city dwellers most of whom moved out to the country for good legitimate reasons. However, along with this migration from the city came some who see the country as refuge from their past, and a new easier place to ply some rather unsavory lifestyles, from crack houses to meth plants to lifestyles of burglary and such.

 

When I was a kid, we didn't even know where the key to the house was. Didn't need it. Today, I feel that every building on the place needs to be kept locked and I even lock the car while it is in our own driveway. A shotgun sits on the wall above the bed, and every lock on the house doors has a deadbolt accompanying it.

 

Yup, times are much different, and neighbors  are looked at a bit differently these days and with an eye of distrust and suspicion. And once in a while that distrust and suspicion turns out to be warranted.

Thank you Ants...lets hope it doesn't get that bad. They payed over 160,000 for this home, which is /was very nice inside and out ....One would think that kind of money brought in some type of "stability"...so much for assumptions. Well The great thing is we have neighbors that always check our place as I do for those below us ,when we drive by.

 

I had a guy in a pick up pull up last night trying to sell me his last two boxes of steak and chicken ...from the back of his pickup!...He never made it to the door...I opened the door ...he opened his mouth and the boys out in the kennel went crazy and Angel stood by me snarling...he stood cautiously 20ft from the door telling me about his end of day deal...lol. Trying to get me to tell him I wasn't home the last time they stopped. I said wrong house, I'm always home whether in the house or on the property with my rifle hunting...point made. I believe we won't see him again.

I wonder myself at times...This selling meat out of the back of a pickup on country roads kills me!....Not the first time, they show up a few times a year...the last guy was 2 wks ago and driving a wht. pick up...This guy had a grey one..both newer trucks ...without a single sign of refrigeration...hhhmmmm...It's bizarre, some things up here...We have one behind us that is a "family compound" They are religious and home schooled the kids...that then grew up and built homes right next to the main house...Quiet and seemingly nice..Use to show up to do the whole religious thing. Until one day they sent a 6 yr old little girl down our drive and the dogs were out...and they saw the dogs where out...I gentle escorted her back to the car. I then pulled the dad aside and tore him a new one trying to keep my voice down.  They never ever came back again...but we wave and are on good terms other wise.

I can say this though...As crazy as some things on our road have been...It's nothing  compared to the next road over!!!!

Instead of 3 dots after neighbor ,why not just write out the word neighbor,does every topic have to be a mystery?

 

Lets see if .....in several years answering these type of questions , getting harassed , belittled,and snarky replies....Lets see if I can say this plainly....

 

To answer that question, because of anal retentive people that have a need to ask ,or make such comments. It interests me why you would click on my mystery topics , when they clearly irritate you or others. I provide a service to those that can not be nasty to the people irritating them in person, in their daily lives. So.... they come on here to get it all out of their systems....I find it a bit of a social experiment now.

I hope that clears it up for you......

 

PS.. I must say I am a blessed person . I have read and seen the wrong words, missed spellings  poor paragraphs and sentence structure in many others posts,including those that have a need to come at me. I read them and have even "liked " them. This with out ever having a need to tear them apart. I can only surmise it is due to the fact my life is void of what ever irritants that cause people to act in such a way.

What part of NY do you live in?  It seems as though it does not matter how much people pay for there house,  some do not want to take of it.  when I was presadant of a condo assn. it was very hard to get property owners to sit on the board.  it's like come on people you are property owners. I will never  under stand people.  I, know what you are saying the world is a strange place now. I beleive we have our polications to thank for that. It seems as though they sat babk and let it happen The war on drugs my a$$ no one wants to stop drugs , to much money in it.  money talks and you know that rest does.
