Oh my someone will be angry....lol

I'm not though! I went to check the new planting in the lane way  Pretty good thus far..the far south end where I have old reliable stand Is growing like mad!...all turnips and mostly the new ones then in the middle where Rivers tower blind is the wht. tail chicory plus ,with added turnips is starting to make a showing...but the turnips from there to corn..a bit slow???. any ways about the mad.

I built Rivers blind on the edge of the lane way in the middle,I have had stands at either end for years. The problem was they crossed onto us in the middle and they where long shots with the 20ga and some times just too far. This placed it directly across from the neighbors mature red oak.. That oak is 10 ft from my fence line and leans over the lane way where it gets sun.....It is loaded with acorns and dropping them in the lane way plot....Nearly all are hanging over my line...Lord he stood there yelling at my empty blind last year just for it being there...He'll flip this year...

Lol......

whether I hunted or not ...I'd still have been planting all this...This property was plowed then left by the farmer...Mowing was not only a mower brush hog killer but my kidneys couldn't take the jarring any longer....That's how I ended up getting into this whole food plot thing...I was hell bent(obsessed actually)  on smoothing out all the land they didn't allow to go back to trees. I figured if I was going to do all that work, I might as well get as much as possible out of it...the lane way was the last piece of open property I had to smooth out...I have 2 more years of De-rocking then I'm done...I'll probably will have all perennials in  over the next couple of years...I've been at this smoothing out the land for well over 10 years now...said I'd have it all done by the time I'm 60...I'm right on schedule.

Growie, if you run out of rocks to pick on your place, come on over to mine..I have lots...<<GRIN>>....

Seriously I'm thinking about hiring a couple of Amish kids the next time I plow...I can drive the front end loader  while they load the rocks in the bucket...

Nothing wrong with good old fashioned hard work! My wife keeps asking when will I slow down. And I say whem I'm dead! But working in this heat, that may be sooner than later. lol..... But  I will say, a lifetime of hard work has kept me healthier than most of the people I know, my age. Oh yeah, I have my share of " issues " but will keep on keeping on! And growalot, just keep going too girl! Good on ya!

  • 2 weeks later...

OMG he's such a twit!. so he was here this past weekend....now he will drive up the hill and turn around in the drive to see if we are home. He knows I'm on the property at odd times from dawn to dusk...Well Rivers birthday party was Sunday...Saturday and Sunday both the vehicles  were gone....So he took a little trip around our wood lot behind Rivers blind...How do I know...he as usual left his calling card...last time it was a scroll can and this time a brown Seagram drink of some kind...he dropped it behind the brush pile fence for me to find.

Honestly this makes me laugh, perhaps if he wasn't always drinking he'd figure out how he's...... so diddling himself ( hope that was polite enough)

He's gotten me to put up a fence...which I was considering not finishing...but the rest will be 6ft chain link that I have on hand. So now the deer don't just move easily from us to  his uncles place that he hunts...because I have food and water and I am keeping part of both the big field down there and the small one on top in high plants with soft grasses to bed in and surround by food. He didn't get it...so I started building in closed blinds he can't tell if I'm in them or not...So he stands in front of an empty one screaming at me ...till I showed up 300ft away watching and shaking my head which made him look like an idiot in front of his friend... So I then build a 400 yrd brush pile fence that is 5-6 ft tall so he and his little rifle can't even see into my wood lot let alone shoot into it. So he in turn trespasses and litters ...why do I find this funny...well ,I may have been a cat in my past life, if you know what I mean:wink: That and I'll now have the cams down there and high where he can see them. He has the 1 oak ..loaded and leaning over my fence dropping acorns, and now he knows that all those oaks that line the brush pile fence...he can't see behind...are dropping as well. Must have really tweaked him to see putting up the fence wasn't to hide anything illegal, just block his view...,Lord wait till I put the pond in down there...he'll flip......When this all first started Gosh, it just made me mad ,then again he did shoot at me and our daughter..Which BTW got him kicked off two adjoining properties ..but still didn't get it...So I have turned it into a game...doing things I would have done anyways improving things,,,just doing them a bit bigger to kill two birds...Now..... it's funny knowing what his next move will be...It's a wonder he can even walk...he's shot himself in the foot so many times!

gfd2...yep I have to say I am so laid back about it now...I almost feel sad for him...lost two properties to hunt...actually 4 if you consider his grandparents disliked him so much they called us to buy the land...and then we bought the other piece he illegally hunted for years nixing that..then Letting the word get out on how they nearly shot us...So those neighbors kicked him off.. and I actually warned him Stop or I'll change how the deer move and the neighbor across the street will get them not you...nope still no control...Then his uncles nixed the horde of guys he'd bring to his 1 acre camp.. where the only place he had to hunt was the uncles...of course it may have been the time the guys dad told me someone from his sons camp nearly shot him while feeding the dog...lol Really is comical in a scary way....

Went to take pics of plot progress...so took picks of what his view is now...I will add to that fence yearly making it good and thick and always taller than me....I put little hidey hole openings along the fence close to all stand sites for them to cross easily from woods to lane way. This also blocks the west/north/west winds in the winter...making it a good spot to bed...blocks drifting snow as well.
